Ideal base to explore

This former farm house at West Boundary Farm has been thoughtfully converted into two bright and comfortable holiday cottages (ref. 27557 and ref. 27558). An interconnecting door between the two cottages means that they can either be enjoyed independently or as one larger holiday home. Situated down a private lane on the outskirts of the small village of Pilling, these properties are ideal for exploring the North West coast. Blackpool, Lytham St Annes, Fleetwood and Poulton-le-Fylde are all within a short drive. Alternatively, the Trough of Bowland, Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are all easily accessible by car. Two well stocked fishing lakes can be found within the farm’s extensive grounds and this is offered free of charge to guests. Shop and pub ½ mile, restaurant 3 miles.

Ground floor: Living room with tiled floor. Dining area/kitchen with tiled floor. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin, both with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Both properties: Oil central heating included (£30per week, £20 per short break November-March). Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Patio with sitting-out area and furniture. Shared lawned garden with patio and furniture. Shared use of 10-acre grounds. Parking (2 cars). No smoking. NB: Lake in grounds, 800 yards.

    The accommodation was comfortable and adequate for our needs. The owner was friendly and interesting to talk to. we all had a great time.

    The accommodation suited our needs perfectly. We have two dogs who loved outside space and local walks. Our daughter stayed in the next door cottage with her dog. This meant that we were able to enjoy the shared garden and parking spaces.

    The cottage suited our needs for being good location clean and handy to get around the owner was friendly and helpful

    The cottage is tucked well away from the main road and we were advised not to walk around the lanes as they are dangerous for pedestrians. The pub and shop are therefore only accessible by car and there is no food provided by the pub on a Tuesday, the one night we wanted a meal ! The cottage itself was very clean and warm and the kitchen well equipped but the fridge lacked retaining bars in the door ,so storing bottles etc was impossible. The TV was rather small but otherwise ok . There is no wifi and the phone signal is a bit hit and miss too! Finally, the en suite was very clean but the cistern took ages to refill after flushing and both the wash hand basin and shower waste pipes needed a good clear out as the drainage was poor. These are minor things really and didn't spoil our holiday which was very enjoyable.

    Lovely tucked away cottage, lovely for peace and quiet but would be good if there was wifi especially with a teenage daughter. Great for dogs

    Excellent stay. Owner very friendly helped when needed but left us to our own devises so that we could relax and enjoy the stay. Would certainly stay there again.
