A great location for a holiday, take the foot ferry to go exploring or discover the white sandy beaches at Sunna Bay.

Occupying a wonderful rural location, accessed via a rough track, overlooking Loch Sunart, the island of Carna and the Morven Hills, this detached holiday home, designed and built by two young architects, offers an excellent base for touring the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. Visit Ardnamurchan Point with its unmanned lighthouse and visitor centre, explore the white sandy beach of Sanna Bay, or call in at the Glenmore Natural History Centre. An abundance of wildlife can be spotted including whales, dolphins, otters and Golden Eagles. A foot ferry from nearby Salen runs to Tobermory on the island of Mull, or from Kilchoan there is a more regular car ferry. The Isles of Skye, Rum, Egg and Canna can be reached from the fishing port of Mallaig. A superb area for walking, fishing, biking and a variety of watersports. Good tearoom 4 miles. Shop and pub 5 miles, restaurant 7 miles.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with wooden floor. 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft), 1 single. Shower room with toilet.

Woodburner in living room included. Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair on request. DVD. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine (in external utility room). Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Broadband connection. Large lawned garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). Cycle store. Natural water supply from spring. No smoking.

West Bothy is a fabulous retreat. Quality internally, from bed linen to kitchen appliances plus a great rain shower with tons of hot water. We arrived following a downfall of snow which added to the awesome views. An amazing find which we hope to revisit in the future.

Excellent in every way. Flowers, milk and shortbread to welcome us. Great outlook. This contemporary eco build is a delightful and cosy space to spend grey days! All bedding is feather. May or may not suit some. We always choose pet free properties because of allergies. Only safety hazard for child or infirm, - 18inch deep drops from some sides of carport area.

Sometimes marketing photos can give a false impression of a property or a location. Not so with West Bothy. From the moment we arrived, it was everything we hoped it would be and were expecting from the web site. Well equipped with everything we could have wanted (except a tray perhaps) and the standard of furnishings (hard and soft) was excellent. We had a great 2-week stay and would highly recommend to others looking for a peaceful and relaxing location set in stunning scenery with plenty of walking and activities nearby. Naturally the best part for our 13-year old was the wifi although hiring a boat for an afternoon on the loch successfully entertained away from "technology".

Cosy place with a relaxed feel. Lots of walking and lovely views to see. Remote and quiet. The only niggles were the overgrown trees really obstructing the view of the loch from the bothy and lack of useful storage in the kitchen (we're vegetarian and eating out was an anticipated problem so we took a lot of food with us - not much choice locally, it was hard to find space for all our stuff). Owner was helpful and friendly. Wood burner was appreciated on the stormy nights! We had a pine marten family visit most nights which was magical - our highlight.

Very enjoyable holiday . Steep drive and shutting the gate half up slightly inconvenient for us 80year olds!

Lovely modern cottage with beautiful views and friendly pinemartin. Good location for exploring the Ardnamurchan peninsula. Would definitely go back.
