A great location for a holiday, take the foot ferry to go exploring or discover the white sandy beaches at Sunna Bay.

Occupying a wonderful rural location, accessed via a drive, overlooking Loch Sunart, the island of Carna and the Morven Hills, this detached holiday home, designed and built by two young architects, offers an excellent base for touring the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. Visit Ardnamurchan Point with its unmanned lighthouse and visitor centre, explore the white sandy beach of Sanna Bay, or call in at the Glenmore Natural History Centre. An abundance of wildlife can be spotted including whales, dolphins, otters and Golden Eagles. A foot ferry from nearby Salen runs to Tobermory on the island of Mull, or from Kilchoan there is a more regular car ferry. The Isles of Skye, Rum, Egg and Canna can be reached from the fishing port of Mallaig. A superb area for walking, fishing, biking and a variety of watersports. Good tearoom 4 miles. Shop and pub 5 miles, restaurant 7 miles.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with wooden floor. 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft), 1 single. Shower room with toilet.

Woodburner in living room included. Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair on request. DVD. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine (in external utility room). Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Broadband connection. Large lawned garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). Cycle store. Natural water supply from spring. No smoking.

We enjoyed our stay very much, although the weather wasn't good to us. Being in our late 70's we were a bit apprehensive about the steepness of the track up to the house, but had no problems whatsoever. One observation was that there was no rubber bath mat or safety handles within the shower unit that elderly or infirm visitors might require.

West Bothy was an absolute delight. Ok the weather was deadful for June but the location and build of WB was fabulous. We did run out of water as it is supplied from a local spring but the owners were more than helpful getting this repaired next morning. Being able to look out over the lock and watch sea eagles was an absolute delight, not to mention the nightly visit from the pine martin. We would recommend WB to anyone, the steepness of the drive is over exaggerated and not a problem even with a sporty car.

Great remote location with fantastic views. Very well equipped home which made it a great self-catering experience. Would highly recommend.

This place is great. Fab views and a good location that enables quiet isolation and access to local shops, walks, restaurants and attractions. The property itself had all we needed, although the crockery and cutlery was a bit grubby and tired, which let it down marginally. Otherwise we had a very happy stay and enjoyed the nightly visits from the pine marten and the shrews.
