The five of us plus our dog have had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful, spacious and well equipped cottage with wonderful views. Although in a remote location we were only around 10 minutes drive from the lovely village of Dunster with the coastal town of Minehead just 5 minutes further. The garden is enclosed so is safe if you have small children or a dog (there is a small raised pond) and the gas BBQ was a must have in such a great location. It was certainly well used by us. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Well Cottage. We just loved it. Just a couple of things to watch out for. Although it certainly didn't bother us there was no Wi-Fi (not that the information on the cottage said there was) and phone connection was virtually non existent unless you are a vodaphone user when you may get a signal at the front of the cottage. There is a landline phone but this can only be used for 999 calls. There are six quite steep steps leading from the car parking area to the cottage which might be a problem for those with mobility problems.

Access to the cottage was very poor due to a bridge collapsing which meant a BIG detour, whilst I appreciate this would have been outside of the owners control I feel we should have been told this at the point of booking or when it happened so we could have made alternative arangements if we wanted too. There was no internet access or mobile phone signal which in some respects may be seen as a positive for some people we did not and certainly the internet access would have been a positive. The accessibility was quite dangerous as the roads were all single track

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. As you say this was completely out of my control, the council have closed the bridge for emergency repairs which should have completed by now but have run over. I did advise you of the bridge closure when you telephoned a few days before to arrange the key collection. There are several different ways to get to the property and the most mileage of a detour is 1.5 miles. We do not advertise that we have wifi or internet access and because the location is quite remote the signal for mobile phone networks can be very weak. I have found that the Vodaphone network seems to be the one that works best. The roads to the property are all B roads, as you can appreciate it is a rural location and we do have HGVs using the roads.
