We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks holiday, this cottage has everything you need, great location, great staff, great furnishings and equipment inside and out. We would highly recommend for a truly relaxing holiday. We miss sitting on the veranda listening to the river bubbling along.

A fabulous place! It exceeded our expectations in every respect. Inverness is a beautiful place, but very little to do there - not the fault of the cottage! Loch Ness cruise was a highlight.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. Our TV did go down for a night a night but that was NO big deal. We played cards and read books. We know a few other guests moaned but I did point out that you could have stayed at home to watch TV! We stayed over for Xmas an New Year and it was amazing, yes it did rain but it didn't matter. The walks are great, as we walked down the road to the cottage two deer ran across our path, I kid you not. Something we didn't expect to see. The cottage itself is warm, cosy and well equipped, rolling pin and colander are missing but apart from that, it's good. Instructions for the washing machine/dryer would have been helpful. Wier cottage is suitable for a family of four. The two single rooms have plenty of space and storage, as does the master bedroom. The only gripe and it's a very small one, is the towels, they're a little on the small side. The welcome pack was massively better than I expected. I would urge you do this once in your lifetime. Going away for Christmas and New Year is a good way to become closer as a family. Thank you David and your team members for making this a wonderful break.

We were blown away at how nice this cottage and the surrounding setting was. I would go as far as to say it was the best holiday i have ever had in the UK. Absolutely faultless, 5* quality in everything about the cottage.

The Weir Cottage itself and the grounds are simply amazing. The people were so warm and welcoming. We walked and walked the lands and felt really at home. If I must state something that was hard on 4 hearts was the use of the hot tub. Two of the people travelling have muscle issues and one of the reasons we booked with Ness Castle lodges was for the hot tub that overlooked the river, offering reprieve from sore necks and hips. The use of the hot tub was clearly stated in the cottage of how it was to be properly used. We followed the guidelines only to find that we were not allowed to use the hot tub unless we received prior approval (NOT stated in our cottage book or on line upon booking). We were reprimanded with a note left on our coffee table by staff when we were out and by the people staying in the big Ness River lodge that were fishing. We felt horrible!!! Punished... and it was downer for our first trip to Scotland.

Really nice small cottage. The bedrooms are rather on the small side. We had to buy our own potato peeler which was a bit of a nuisance. Otherwise a lovely little holiday in a beautiful location.
