A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Description

Lovely riverside property, with glass balcony and vaulted ceiling, overlooking River Bure, use of motor launch to explore the Broads.

The Boathouse has been built to a nautical theme and has been equipped to the highest standard, offering excellent holiday accommodation. The properties (Refs CVK, CVL, CVM) are within a working boatyard on the banks of the River Bure, enjoying river views, and each property has the added benefit of a motor launch free of charge from 5th September to 15th July. Each has a ground floor compact decked area and first floor glass balcony, providing lovely scenery over the water with all its activity. Designed in ‘upside down’ style, the open-plan living area on the first floor has patio doors leading to the furnished balcony - perfect for relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere. The properties are situated in Wroxham, which is well known as the ‘Capital of the Broads’ and has a selection of cafes, restaurants and shops. One of the best ways to enjoy the Broads is on the water by motor launch or take one of the organised day trips arranged by the neighbouring boatyard. On the water, the beauty of the Broads can be truly experienced with its extensive wildlife (ducks, geese, swans, spoonbills and herons) and its sleepy Broads villages with their pretty flint cottages and attractive churches. The coast is within easy reach with lovely sandy beaches and a string of villages spreading northwards to the bustling sea towns of Cromer and Sheringham. Alternatively, Norwich is 8 miles away with cathedral, museums, theatre, shops and restaurants. National Trust properties well worth a visit are Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall. Shop 500 yards.

Four bedrooms, each with en-suite shower room and toilet, and patio doors to decked area; two double and two twin. First floor: Living/dining room and galley-style kitchen area with beech wooden floor and patio doors to glass wrap-around balcony with river views. Bathroom with toilet.

Parking (for 2 cars)

Electricity, full gas central heating, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD. Mini hi-fi. Microwave. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. First floor balcony. Decked area with furniture. No smoking. Free motor launch 5th September - 15th July; other dates at preferential hire rates. NB: Decked area has water frontage. These properties have a security deposit of £50 for all bookings which include pets.

A wonderful weekend celebrating my Dad's 60th birthday. The boathouse suited us perfectly - being able to take the dogs with us, and having the use of the boat for the weekend. Despite the rain, we really enjoyed our time out on the water! We took plenty of provisions with us, so can't really comment on local pubs/restaurants. The heating in the house is very effective!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a perfect location and accommodation for families. it is spacious and has lovely views, and was immaculately clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We marked the facilities down a little as we found the beds to be too low down, and the mattresses a little soft,( personal taste I'm sure). however, this would not stop us from staying again.
