Description

Enjoy a great family holiday at this property, with beaches and seaside towns within easy reach.

These beautifully renovated detached Welsh barns, Ty Llo (ref W43266) and Coal House (ref W43267), stand a few yards apart, and a small terraced row of three (300 yards from the barns), comprising Wyth-y-Nant (ref W42214) and Hawton (ref W41830), both end terraced properties, and Coeden Afal (ref W41764), the mid terraced property, are all situated on Carmarthen Bay in the coastal setting between Ferryside and Kidwelly. Tastefully decorated throughout, each bursts with character including original stone walls and beams. Close to the historic castle at Kidwelly and just a short drive to Carmarthen. Beaches at Ferryside, Pembrey and Llanstephan are all within easy driving distance. Enjoy a day at Fos Las racecourse, only a 15-minute drive. The holiday cottages provide an ideal location from which to enjoy the sandy beaches of Pembrokeshire and the Gower, the latter renowned for being Britain’s first AONB. Spend your days exploring the historic town of Laugharne, famously known for the iconic boathouse of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, and visit the castle and traditional Welsh pubs where fresh fish is always on the menu. Don’t miss a visit to the National Botanical Garden of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens. Golf, riding, fishing and water sports nearby. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 0.75 miles.

All on ground floor: Living room with French doors/dining room/kitchen with French doors, beams and wooden floor. 2 double bedrooms, one (5ft) with en-suite shower room and toilet, one with additional single and pull-out bed with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

A wonderful holiday home which suited all ages from grandparent aged 80 to teenager aged 14. Could not of asked for a better, well suited accommodation. A fab base from which we could travel to local amenities and locations such as Tenby, the Mumbles and Saundersfoot etc. Really practical for grandparents little dog and hence made the holiday really relaxing and stress free !

The cottage was spotless but cramped. The welcome pack was disappointing with just a small jug of milk, a few teabags, sugar and small amount of instant coffee and 2 Welsh cakes. In the past at other locations we've been left with bacon, eggs, bread, biscuits etc, enough to have a light snack and/or breakfast without having to shop first, which is always welcome after a lengthy journey. It was also cold with just underfloor heating, and no ability to do things like dry towels and swimwear. Decor and area wasn't to our taste, nothing to do without travelling by car and we couldn't find the pub which was supposed to be within 1 mile. Beach wasn't even dog friendly being very muddy and slippery to get to and then covered in jellyfish. We also felt like we were being watched on the day of departure for a good hour before we had to be out, and owners didn't speak when passing by so not the friendliest place we've stayed. This was an anniversary getaway that left us very disappointed and it's extremely unlikely we'll return.

Excellent clean, spacious, warm and well equipped barn conversion with good views. Interesting area with castles, Wales Botanic Garden, Wetlands and Wildlife Trust at Llanelli, Gower Peninsula, Laugharne and many others as well as Kidwelly Castle and Kidwelly Quay.
