The only holiday cottage we've stayed in that we'd want to go back to! It had everything we needed, was clean, modern and comfortable and had lovely owners. The high ceilings made it airy and spacious. You're two miles from Wells so in easy reach of the supermarket for all your shopping needs and a great jumping off point for the seaside, Cheddar, Glastonbury and Longleat and within walking distance of Wookey Hole caves. Perfect for a couple or small family.

Although we enjoyed our stay at The Stables and Scott and Holly were really helpful and welcoming, we feel that it needed a few tweaks to give it 5 stars. It was immaculate in cleanliness and very comfortable but we found it needed an extra room for eating in as there is only a table on wheels with chairs inside which you have to move from the hallway into the kitchen to eat and then move it back again. It is the ideal cottage for visiting Wells Cathedral and The Bishops Palace, Bristol Docks where the SS GREAT BRITAIN IS and also at Sparksford where the Haynes Motor Museam is. We would recommend it as you can overlook the minor things we have mentioned. It is very well equipped, you can't expect it to be like home but it's the next best thing!

The cottage was an ideal base to explore the local area. The owner was friendly and helpful and the cottage had everything we needed for a short break.

Lovely cottage to stay in. Scott and Holly were friendly and helpful. Welcome pack with tea and coffee and milk was a nice touch. Sky lights need blinds to allow a lay in, but apart from this the stay was very comfortable. Highly recommend.

A lovely, comfortable, clean & well equipped cottage, in picturesque surrounding, with a secure private garden. We had a very peaceful & relaxing weekend.

The cottage is really lovely, and pictures won't give the true effect is has on you when you walk in. The owner, Scott has worked hard to build a wonderful place, which is further enhanced by his care for you to make sure this is a place to really enjoy. I have no hesitation in saying this is one of the top cottages we have stayed in.

The cottage amenities were of a high standard and far better than anticipated. Access to some incredibly interesting and exciting locations full of history and beauty meant we were never short of things to do. In fact a week was far too short to cover many of the places and activities we had hoped to achieve.

Even though we thought we were having wifi there was no Wifi. No mobile connection either. For some, difficult lanes to negotiate for a car.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are very disappointed in this review after going out of our way to make your vacation comfortable, we pride ourselves on the cottage being home from home and spotlessly clean yet your review gave a 5/10 for cleanliness without pinpointing the issue, especially as we regularly asked if everything was OK. At no time did you mention that it wasn’t. We made sure the Wi-Fi was working before your arrival but you said you couldn't connect; we helped you rectify the issues despite me having a broken leg. I explained that the Wi-Fi was not my fault but down to the providers. This guest did advise that they had a good knowledge of computers but if there is a problem with the providers it is out of my control. Also mobile phone coverage is down to the provider but we offered our house phone if they were in desperate need. The accommodation is in a village location and there is nothing I can do about the width of the roads. So very disappointed in the 5/10 score especially as when we spoke to these guests they said they had a great stay.
