Loved the location at the end of a country lane but also being close enough to a main route. Beautiful cottage, large airy and spacious. Sun trap of a back garden. Bonus of 3 toilets too! Our little boy lived the baskets of toys around the property and spent every available minute playing with them-a super idea. Well equipped and large kitchen. Plenty of parking for 2 cars outside the property too. Limited internet connection 3G sometimes 4g didn’t bother us as it was nice to switch off from everyday life. The towels in the bathroom were tired feeling and odd. Plus they weren’t big enough to wrap around your body. All our ‘group’ 4 adults commented on this. They were only big enough to wrap round our 4 year old!!! Bath towels or bath sheets would have been better than a small hair towel! Also if you are having children stay in the property plastic cups/glasses plates/ bowls would be a good addition. There was one child’s fork in the drawer but the rest of the set-knife and spoon were missing. Another thought would be to put some tea towels in the kitchen too rather than just a towel/tea towel-much more hygienic. We went through all the drawers but couldn’t find one. However we all really enjoyed our stay at The Shippon and would recommend it to family and friends in the future.

A really lovely spacious cottage in a very quiet location which we would definitely visit again. Only a short drive from many different coastal resorts. Great having both an ensuite bathroom for the downstairs bedroom and a shared bathroom for those upstairs.

Lovely big old farmhouse with big rooms, very quiet, yet easy to access hartland, bude, tintagel, and west to port Isaac as not far from A39. Big well-equipped kitchen, very clean, lovely comfy sofa, warm heating if required. Two downsides - I wished it had wifi for Netflix, music, planning walks, checking bus times, tide times, things to do etc as the mobile signal was bad. The upstairs shower (a triton electric) was terrible - low pressure, lots of the water leaked down the hose and what did come out was a trickle in random directions as the holes were part-clogged with black mould. Downstairs one better but I still missed a decent power shower, especially after a long day on the coast path. Would be perfect for family or friends travelling together otherwise.

Fantastic cottage. Spacious and with lots of character. Well provided for even down to games, books and puzzles. Well located for access to towns on the North Cornwall coast. Must have transport though.
