Not a very cosy cottage compared with many we have stayed in. Layout really odd with loads of stairs.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. We are sorry that you found the cottage lacking in some respects. There is a gas fired central heating system with thermostatically controlled radiators in every room, and a log burner in the lounge. We wonder whether the central heating was turned down by a previous guest. Details of how to control the heating are in the House Book, and we provide an initial basket of kindling and logs for the log burner. As far as the layout is concerned, details of the property are given on the website with photographs of the interior. As a converted Victorian school we find the quirky layout to be a positive aspect of Old School House which the majority of guests consider to be part of its charm.

The Old School House was one of the best properties I have stayed in. The only issue I could highlight is the shower in the main bathroom. If it were mine the shower head assembly would be replaced. Other than that it was perfect for our needs. The Star Inn round the corner was great.

Lovely cottage, in a central location for visiting the Peak District. Very well equipped and cosy. Would definitely stay there again.

Unfortunately I was not well on arrival at School House and we returned home early. The reason we not book there again was we found the stairs difficult (we are elderly) and the bath was difficult to fill owing to the glass side screen being permanently fixed in place.

Overall a lovely cottage in a great location, the only negative was the cleanliness could have been improved upon.

Enjoyed staying at the cottage, but was very surprised that there was no functioning fast broadband. Would have preferred to pay a little extra to have this facility, which we had assumed would be provided.

Lovely property in good location. Lack of secure garden for dogs was the only draw back.

A pleasant cottage in a good location. Only slight downside if you have a dog is the tiny garden which isn't enclosed.

This is a very drafty property. And could do with an update.
