Lovely place if you like being somewhere very quiet and enjoy the dark (which we do!) Cottage was very comfortable. Storage heaters worked well during a cold snap - it was November after all. Good dog walk although we did have to walk up the lane to get to it.

The Old Packhouse was suitably quiet, well equipped for our needs with adequate amenities , dog friendly and in a suitable area for our holiday.

This cottage is brilliant in all respects Except 1, which |is explained below The lack of connectivity via Mobile or Internet. There are many areas of rural Sussex that have poor or no mobile coverage by any network, this is one of them, if you walk around outside you can if you are lucky get service but once you get service don't move !! Otherwise if you move 99% of the time it drops out. Reading the visitors book this is mentioned by almost all visitors and equally the lack of any form of Internet connectivity WiFi hot spot etc.. Obviously the owner can do nothing about the Mobile coverage but the owner could create a wiFi access for this and the barn conversion on the site. I am sure visitors would be quite happy to pay a small fee if they required connectivity we certainly would have, we didn't want a high speed link rather just a reliable link so we could use email to contact family. We live abroad and family in UK wanted to come and visit us while we were in UK without connectivity we had to go to great length to find WiFi or mobile access points to make these arrangements and that spoiled what was an idyllic location in the sussex downs.

A very good base for visiting the surrounding area. Only gave a 6 for cleanliness as although at eye level everything was very clean, there were a lot of cobwebs around the ceiling area. Also, the cottage is very dark, having to put the lights on even first thing in the morning. Could do with extra uplighting. Having said that, overall it was a very nice place to stay.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thanks for your feedback, we are glad you found the property to be clean. We do take great pride in ensuring our cleaning is to an extremely high standard, however we do get the odd cobweb from time to time. With it being a converted barn with very high vaulted ceilings, with the amount of beams, in addition we are in a rural spot close to the woodland, so they can appear overnight. We are onsite so we are always available to come and clean them away. We have plenty of spotlights in the barn, as well as side lights, so it’s a shame you felt the lighting could be improved. We have switched to LED recently which may make them very slightly dimmer but do take on board your feedback and hope to see you back here again.
