Excellent place to stay if you want a quiet holiday in beautiful surroundings. A short drive to shops, pub and coast. No wifi signal but that was a bonus. There is use of a land line if required. Would highly recommend The Old Carthouse.

Wow what a fantastic place to stay. Wonderful location, comfortable, clean, worth every penny to stay in such a wonderful private. Very nice people that let this property out. If you want a get away from every thing and every one just perfect. Ideal if you are disabled as well, easy access and move-ability around the property. The ensuit to both bedrooms a real plus. We took our two well behaved dogs with us and they enjoyed their walks near by. I would recommend this holiday stay to any one looking to stay in this area. Just perfect.

Inadequate clothes hanging but otherwise well equipped. Very nice barn conversion but located 1.5 miles down a narrow lane.

Absolutely loved the fact that phone and internet services were poor. A very peaceful and restful week. The owners were very friendly and helpful, would definitely return.

Calmness, tranquility, dark skies and wildlife, this issue wonderful location and thank goodness for no phone signal, although WiFi was useful and worked perfectly well. The setting is lovely and the barn is comfortable, spacious and well equipped. We turned the sofa round to permanently watch the woodpeckers and other wildlife! Only things we didn't like were the very uncomfortable dining chairs and would have preferred both bathrooms to have showers rather than a roll top bath, but appreciate that's very subjective. Beautiful part of the world, hope to go back !

Very comfortable and well equipped. Remote position meant it was peaceful and relaxing with lots of wildlife. Lots of amenities available within 1/2 hour drive which we expected
