Description

This holiday cottage is ideal for a couple who wish to explore the delights of the Pembrokeshire Coast.

Shared 17-acre grounds with woodland walks

Lying peacefully down a quiet country lane between the bustling coastal resorts of Pendine and Amroth, these traditional Welsh barns (refs 29463, 30251, 30252, 30521 and 30522) have been restored to a very good standard and make a perfect touring base for couples or families looking for a seaside getaway. Situated on a small holding complex with a small farm shop on-site, the former barns dating back to the 18th century retain much of their original charm and character, with each room having comfortable furnishings and amenities for that unforgettable holiday experience. Coastal Wood Holidays received the highest accolade of Gold at the Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards, as awarded by the Tourism Asociation. These properties are nestled between Amroth beach and Pendine Sands in the beautiful Pembrokeshire National Park, with 17 acres of natural grounds and woodland walks, which lead to the spectacular coastal path, where guests can discover the hidden Horseshoe Coves and unblemished tranquil beaches dotted along the coast. The charming village of Amroth is close by, posing a selection of traditional pubs, restaurants, cafes and a sandy beach. Just a stone’s throw away are the picturesque harbour towns of Saundersfoot and Tenby, offering an array of boutique gift shops, art galleries and restaurants with freshly caught fish always on the menu. Explore the off-shore island of Caldey and share the serenity and tranquillity of the Cistercian monks, or take a sea safari along the dramatic coast, cruising close to sea birds, seals and the occasional dolphin. Away from the coast, the rolling countryside is just as promising with its array of traditional market towns dotted around the country including Narberth and Haverfordwest as well as the numerous enchanted sites including Pembroke and Carew Castles. Visit Oakwood, Folly Farm and Bluestone for action packed day out. Dairy Cottage (30523) and The Buttery (30522) have an interconnecting door and can be booked together to sleep 8. We used the Nook as a base that was central to a group of sites we wanted to visit. When we arrived we loved the look and feel of the place. We especially loved the lounge which we branded our 'nook in The Nook', it was a lovely cosy room with TV, a few games, a wood burner and just lovely design touches. We were also greeted with some homemade welsh cakes, which were very lovely. If you stay in one of these cottages, seek out the woodshed (I think that was what it was called), where there are food cupboard items you can purchase, DVDs, games and even wellies to borrow and lots of handy local leaflets. I very much appreciated the effort the owners had put in to this. If you do choose The Nook, be prepared to stoop in the bedroom which is set in the rafters. I think I got a few bruises, but didn't mind as it was very cosy.

We thought that we could walk into Amroth with our dog, but there wasn't access to a path that we could find. Very good location for visiting Saundersfoot, Tenby and Stackpole. Very quiet and peaceful.

We had a fantastic holiday in Pembrokeshire. I will certainly remember my 60th Birthday. Made lots of new memories surrounded by my family. The Nook cottage was perfect and I would love to go back again. The beaches are beautiful and the scenery stunning. We also had very good weather so the horse riding was wonderful. We had bbq's and campfires and toasted marshmallows. Lovely days on the beach and some nice meals out locally. Lee ad Abi could not do enough for us and the welcome made us feel part of the family. The play park went down a storm with the grandchildren and grown ups alike! and the little shop with the honesty box was a great idea for the kiddies. Will definitely be paying another visit to the cottages in the future.
