All the family enjoyed our stay at the hill coachouse, itwas really a lovely house in beautiful grounds. The oven & cooker need updating thats all,, The owner was a lovely man very helpful & friendly. The men all loved the games room. All in all would recommend for a large family get together. If you like Indian food try the slice of india, it was gorgeous, its about 20 mins away by car.

A brilliant few days, with generally excellent facilities. The grounds are so large that it would be difficult for the children to run away! Rooms are comfortable and well equipped, good showers, bags of "living" space, BBQ etc. Brilliant. The only thing that marred it slightly was the kitchen - the ovens were pretty pathetic and barely got hot. It seemed that everything was on slow-cook mode. And they wouldn't "light" themselves, had to do it with a lighter. The rest of the kitchen is tired, but functional. Will definitely be back, but please replace the ovens!

We had a fantastic time at the Hill Coachouse in the October half term. There were 9 adults and 9 children aged between 13 and 17, and one dog. The accomodation was perfect for a crowd, 2 very spacious living rooms, a lovely big dining room for us all to sit round together, lots of bathrooms, a utility room (for the dog) and a great games room (although I would personally have liked a ping pong table). I'm not sure of the delicate way of saying this, but the furnishings were comfortable and well worn, and this is not a criticism, we didn't want anything too precious with all those teenagers, not to mention the red wine swilling adults. We walked to the pub in the village and also a couple of times to the Radley Boat Stop via the canal. Both very walkable although torches would be a good idea along the road. It was a great location for exploring the area. Nice walks locally and also further north into the peak district. Alton Towers not far away. Very close to Derby if you need any wet weather amenities like bowling etc. The manager of the property was very helpful and came straight out to sort a problem we had with a shower. We would love to go back.
