We had a fantastic time at the Hill Coachouse in the October half term. There were 9 adults and 9 children aged between 13 and 17, and one dog. The accomodation was perfect for a crowd, 2 very spacious living rooms, a lovely big dining room for us all to sit round together, lots of bathrooms, a utility room (for the dog) and a great games room (although I would personally have liked a ping pong table). I'm not sure of the delicate way of saying this, but the furnishings were comfortable and well worn, and this is not a criticism, we didn't want anything too precious with all those teenagers, not to mention the red wine swilling adults. We walked to the pub in the village and also a couple of times to the Radley Boat Stop via the canal. Both very walkable although torches would be a good idea along the road. It was a great location for exploring the area. Nice walks locally and also further north into the peak district. Alton Towers not far away. Very close to Derby if you need any wet weather amenities like bowling etc. The manager of the property was very helpful and came straight out to sort a problem we had with a shower. We would love to go back.

Great place for large family group. The children enjoyed the space and the games room.

A beautiful house in lovely grounds, with the added bonus of a games room. The house was very well-equipped, but the kitchen is very small and the appliances are quite old and not really up to catering for large groups. We were very impressed with how helpful the owners were - from allowing us to arrive early, to coming straight over when we had a problem. It really is a beautiful house and we felt well looked after.

A fabulous cottage for a big family get together. We had 6 children age 4 months to 7 and they had the time of their lives tearing around the house and garden. We were all able to sit round the large dining table. There were plenty of bedrooms and shower rooms. The bathroom was a bit chilly for bathing the tinies but the rest of the house was comfortably warm, we didn't have to light the wood burner. The kitchen was well equipped but has been previously mentioned, the ovens were inefficient. (They are gas and electricity would have been better). The men still managed to cook a big roast dinner for 16 on Mothers Day. We would definitely visit again.

Lovely place with lots of room for socialising, and for children to play.

Brilliant venue. Only downside is the kitchen is really tired, and the cooker really needs replacing. Rest of the house is great.
