Description

On a headland above the quaint fishing village of Little Haven, a detached stone cottage brimming with character.

On a headland above the quaint fishing village of Little Haven, just one mile from the sea, lies The Dairy; recently and sympathetically converted into a detached, stone cottage brimming with character. Adorned with original art works and handcrafted fabrics, its lovely ambience is enhanced further by its double height, vaulted ceiling creating not only a wonderful sense of space but allowing light to flood through velux windows into the healthy habitat below: Lime render allows The Dairy’s thick old stone walls to breathe, while fresh, chemical-free, filtered spring water flows through its taps. A large glazed door from the living area, connects inside with out, offering not only pleasant views across the lawned garden but access to the gravelled patio area – the ideal spot for al fresco dining. While inside, beamed ceilings, the wood-burning stove and a host of comfortable soft furnishings provide the perfect ingredients for irresistibly cosy evenings. Glimpsed through the trees and hedgerows as you roam the owners’ land, the sea lies tantalizingly close. Just a mile of meandering through a peaceful country lane and onto the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, allows you to discover Mill Haven Beach; perfect for exploring rock pools. Little Haven, just a mile and a half away, serves other gastronomic delights from its tea-rooms, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The Swan, with splendid views across the small, sandy bay offers a great menu created from the abundant array of Pembrokeshire produce and the perfect place to witness the madness of the New Years Day swim or the mayhem of the August raft race.

The Dairy was exactly what we wanted. Traditional cottage, but with everything in it we needed, remote location, close to the sea, and a couple of excellent places to eat nearby. Will go back!

Lovely owners. Upstairs bedromm walls are so slanted the there was only 2 or 3 inches from pillow to slanted wall. Had to sleep reverse direction on bed. The bath is very small as is living room so really only appopriate for two people. Great wifi and tv. Lovely yard area with picnic table. Unfortunately, not very clean.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thanks for your feedback. We've taken on board the note about the bed and moved it further into the room. The 'Dairy' cottage is our smallest cottage and is primarily for two people, where the shower room serves the main bedroom (it being a one bedroom cottage), but as advertised, it can sleep up to four, as it's got the sofa bed in the lounge area downstairs. We are alarmed by your note on cleanliness as each cottage is thoroughly cleaned by our team of cleaners before each letting. It would have been helpful if you could have been more specific to which areas you felt were unclean so that we would have had the opportunity to address the issue instantly.

Very nice couple very willing to help. Small windows meant no much through air in the bedroom. Nothing major. Very close to Pembrokeshire Coastal Path so lots of good walks and beaches and wildlife.

Wonderful break away at the dairy with the family. Dog friendly with lots of coastal walks. Plenty of places to visit if you like walking or just a short trip in the car. Very quiet relaxing break. Home away from home. Owners Paddy and Lou we're welcoming and friendly. Would recommend this to any family looking for a quiet getaway.

Owners are delightful and could not have been more helpful during our stay. The property is best suited to a couple (we have two young children). This explains why I personallywould not choose to stay in the Dairy again. That said, we have booked in for four weeks in the adjacent 'Barn'. I would unreservedly recommend this property to anybody wishing to stay in a stunning and tranquil location in Pembrokeshire.

We enjoyed our holiday in the Dairy. The weather was wonderful, which always helps! The cottage is cosy for two + dog. Kitchen facilities were almost all new (fridge freezer needed to be renewed whilst we were there, I am sure this has been done). Washing machine, dishwasher, oven and microwave were available. Lots of water for showering, bed comfy. Dog friendly place (usual common-sense rules apply: i.e. keep dog under control, not on furniture, not allowed upstairs and cannot be left in the cottage by itself) access to the coastal path within 10 minutes walk.

I love this little cottage. A perfect get away from it all place. The walks along the coastal path nearby are wonderful. The highlights of my week were Skomer Island and carew castle. Tenby and St David's are always worth a visit. Or just switch off the tv open the doors and listen to the birds sing. :)

It is a lovely cottage in a very quiet place, just a little remote for our liking, you have to drive for everything, ifyou like costal walking then it's in a perfect spot. We did like the cottage though

We enjoyed a really lovely week at The Dairy. It is a cosy cottage full of character. We had a warm welcome from the Coggins family and greatly appreciated their advice on places to visit. I would welcome the availability of a dog friendly enclosed area just outside the cottage to enable having the French door open whilst knowing that one's friendly yet greedy dogs are not eating other guests' picnics or similar! Many thanks on making our trip one to remember.
