Lovely quiet spot to get away from it all. Great local shop and pub which does good food within in a few steps.

The cottage was well equipped and lovely and warm, but all the beams are thick dust. I walked in my bedroom and could not stop sneezing. I had to climb up on a chair to clean it off and cobwebs were everywhere. There must also be a wasp nest in the roof as every evening a big one would come in the cottage and spend hours buzzing around. Lovely walk for the dogs on the doorstep. Unfortunately the pub down the road was closed every time we went there as it was hardly ever open. Large supermarket only a 20 mins drive from the cottage and a nice pub 15 minutes away.

The cottage was absolutely filthy. I had to clean the kitchen before using it. Cobwebs everywhere. Dust was thick. Even though the location was great it was let down by the cleanliness. Maybe they should higher a professional cleaner.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: We were interested in your comments after your 2 week stay in the Dairy as we had had a number of pleasant chats and had no idea that there had been a problem. We explained the evening you arrived, that as we lived on site, if there were any issues or problems please call at the Farmhouse. We converted these redundant, but listed, farm buildings some 12 years ago and have taken pride in achieving a high standard and have had a great many repeat customers that have given very positive feedback. We also received a congratulatory comment from the listed buildings, conservation officer who was impressed that we had managed to salvage most of the tongue and groove timber boarding that made up the roof of the Dairy and Bull Pen as they had been exposed to the elements for the last two and a half centuries! The downside of this is that cobwebs can appear over night! This is however a risk of staying in a building designed to house cattle some 250 years ago and now converted to holiday accommodation in a National Park. We would however be very pleased for you to return.

A perfect place for a relaxing holiday. We had our two dogs with us and they had a fine time too. The garden is dog proof and our dogs were safe playing there.

Lovely location in a well equipped cottage. The area is ideal for days out to Chichester and Portsmouth with several great walks and pubs close by. The only minor gripe concerned the owners son in law who objected to our dog aggressively barking at him when i left the gate open by mistake. Despite apologising and assuring him our rescue dog had never attacked anyone, i was rather arrogantly warned that my dog was 'dangerous' and that 'a note would be written to the owners'. My wife, whose ill health had generated our visit was particularly upset by the incident. Otherwise we had an excellent time and i would heartily recommend the cottage.

Excellent place, well furnished, warm, excellent facilities, lovely view, personal touches from owner. Great for our dog too. Lovely village with shop and tea room in an excellent location for walking, West Wittering beach, Weald & Downland open air museum and Chichester.
