We had a very enjoyable week at The Cottage. Well located for many forest walks and walking trails, Wast Water is beautiful and the steam railway well worth a visit. The Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped with a delightful garden to relax in. Would definitely stay here again.

Really lovely cottage and the owners are lovely people too. Fresh milk and duck eggs in the morning! Great local amenities but for us it was a little far from the places we were visiting. Great location if you're only looking to explore a small part of the lakes. We went everywhere so there was a lot of driving. Cottage comfortable but the power shower needs more power. Beds were a tad uncomfortable for us but that's very much each to their own. Loved listening to all the local wildlife and sitting with the fire burning in the evening. Kitchen very well equipped, everything we needed was there.

Great place to stay, quiet and relaxing, well equipped, owners very nice, if taking teenagers the Internet isn't very good.

The furniture was uncomfortable and smelt quite badly of damp dogs. In addition the cottage was advertised as having wi-fi. This could only be accessed if you were standing in the garage or sometimes if you stood on the stairs. Not very good at all.I think a simple booster or a relocation of the hub would solve this issue. I would also recommend that the owners invest in a more modern television set as the current one is not suitable to connect with HDMI or USB digital equipment. The owners were friendly and welcomed us so there is no problem there.

Nice enough but photos on website made it look more modern. Cleanliness was ok- we didn't realise it was a dog friendly cottage so this was to be expected. No wifi as was advertised and owners said it should not be stated on the listing Unfortunately we didn't find the price comparable to other cottages we have hired in the past. However the owners were lovely and the location was very tranquil.

A great cottage in a superb location. If you a looking for a farm cottage where you can relax with your dogs, then this is ideal. A nice, large cottage with a dog-friendly garden and old-world charm, surrounded by fields and a small duck pond. Ideally located for the roads and also the dog-friendly beaches at Seascale and Drigg. Also good Co-op and Chinese at Seascale. Owners are on-site and very friendly and welcoming. Definitely one to go back to again.
