A very warm and friendly welcome Ideal location just off the town centre, but very quiet and private. Plenty of places and eateries to visit. Corner shop close at hand for quick necessities. Travel, especially by rail, very easy. Cottage was warm and comfortable and had all the necessary items needed.Yes, an unusual layout up stairs which was no problem for us as a couple.Would happily use it again.

The spacious kitchen was very well equipped but did have an unpleasant damp oudour, however overall the accommodation was comfortable and in a peaceful location with easy walking access to all that Southport has to offer. Owners friendly and unobtrusive. Parking is a bit tight if you have a large car. Some people might find access to the bedroom and bathroom being via another bedroom but fine for a couple or smaller children.

Fabulous!! We all felt comfortable and relaxed. Lots of provisions left by owner. Wonderful friendly welcome. All in all our stay was perfect.

Great location but disappointingly the quirkiness extended far beyond the layout. A few minor kinks are fine but they were numerous leaving a feeling of lost opportunity. Upon arrival much later than planned after a very long drive the cottage was cold even. The owner had put the heating on but it was not until the next day when we increased the temperature of the radiators at the boiler we were able to get the cottage warm. Heating the cottage was possibly not helped with the layout of the stairs from the lounge leading right to an open plan main bedroom and so most of the warmth from the lounge escaping up the stairs. In the kitchen the pedal bin didn't pop up, neither did one side of the toaster, the kitchen knives were blunt and the pans were not even up to the most basic task of an omelette! Minor things but one after the other they became an annoyance. In the second bedroom one of the blinds didn't work and there were no curtains. Hot water is an either/or scenario between the kitchen and the bathroom. Finally WiFi is in the main house meaning coverage is patchy at best. Overall if your a couple or have young children and come when the weather is nicer without the expectation of using the kitchen much you'll probably have a great time. As a bolt hole in colder conditions we found the cottage lacking.
