We had a wonderful time at the Cottage. We loved everything . Mr and Mrs Charnley were so welcoming and helpful. The view of the fells was the star of the show alongside the Cosy cottage with the lovely wood burner.

Our fourth year here and already booked for next year. We love it, peace and quiet beautiful views, and owners although always busy on the farm, have time to help with any questions relating to the area. There are also lots of helpful leaflets for places to visit and things to do. As long as this cottage is for rent we shall keep coming back every year.

Excellent remote-feeling location. Fantastic views. Basic facilities. Wood-burning stove for when it is chilly. Peace and quiet. On a farm owned by the National Trust run by Christine and Philip who are very friendly and helpful and love their work. This is why we love staying here.

If you like getting away from it all then this is the place for you. Peaceful, beautiful surroundings, great walks from the door. Its not five star luxury but it is my favourite holiday place.

A lovely cottage for those like us who want to get away from it all and don't need tv, computers etc. Ideal location with stunning views and there are so many great walks from the cottage. It is set on a working sheep farm and the couple who rent the cottage are very nice and friendly and always happy to advise you on anything. Coniston is a 15 minute drive away and the lake there is so much more peaceful than Windemere and the other more commercialised places. We go every year and just love it !

Absolutely brilliant place we stayed in January 2016 and it snowed, cut us off from the main road but we parked there and was just a 10min walk to the car. Ideally located though and when the main roads are reopened to keswick just a short drive to anywhere in the lakes really. Some great local walks if you want to stay local too. The couple that own the cottage are friendly welcoming and couldnt do enough to help us if we needed anything. We shall be returning!!!
