Cheap - but not in a good way! Only 2* Thinnest toilet paper I've ever seen, sticky back plastic as draught excluder, heavily watered down washing up liquid....seriously? This property desperately needs the rental money spent on it. Proper draught excluder - £5, sand the bottom of doors so they don't get stuck on the floor - £2. Cleanliness - my jumper fell off the back of the lounge chair and on retrieval was severely coated in dust and fluff. Immediate surfaces look clean but I don't recommend looking further than that. Only 1 end of the settee is useable, you fall so far into the other end you can't get out again- time for replacement I think. This property has wonderful space that is extremely poorly used. Ditch the second unnecessary bathroom and combine the space with the oversized utility room to make a delightfully sunny kitchen and diner. Return the Lounge room to a lounge. With redistribution, there will then be ample room for all the furniture that has been crammed into the property. For those who don't know, the 'Lounge' is currently of average size and has crammed into into - the lounge, the kitchen and a second dinning area. It is dangerous. Beware, in winter parking is on mud. We unplugged the continuously ringing telephone, it is a nuisance and disturbs your peace as are the ridiculously large amounts of mail arriving at the property. You live opposite, get your mail sent there! On a POSITIVE note - we can not fault the availability of wood for the log stove and the replacement mattress on the bed is very comfy.

A lovely little place with character. Good value for the little cost.

Cottage was fine the telephone ringing in the locked attic is a bit weird as we unplugged the one in the hall for peace. Otherwise nice and peaceful

We enjoyed our time at the cottage - it was clean and very cosy. The best thing was the absolute quiet and its backwater position.

The cottage was dirty and there was no change of bedding between weeks. The outside area was always in shade and was not user friendly. The owner returned whilst we were out to retrieve her mail. Overall totally disappointed by the full experience. Summed up best in 1 word - Dirty

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for all your welcome comments about 'The Cottage'. TV and DVD player have been upgraded, garden tidied up and redesigned and general decor improved. I appreciate some guests might find some of the furniture 'dirty' because it is old, especially the 200 year old doors but, every effort is made to keep things clean as reflected in the overall cleanliness rating of 4 stars out of 5. Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. Had you have phoned me, I could have told you replacement towels and bedding are in the chest in the main bedroom.
