We had a lovely week. The Corn Mill was very comfortable and well equipped. The owners had left a pint of milk and the makings for tea and coffee which was much appreciated after a long flog up the M6! I would definitely stay there again.

Owners very helpful and friendly without being intrusive. Cottage well equipped with great view out of front window which overlooks the river. Good base for exploring the nearby lakes and coast. Would definitely stay again and have earmarked it for a future visit.

This was one of the best holidays in the Lake District area. Though situated right on the edge it took no more than 15 minutes to drive into the hills, lakes or sea side. Our host Keith and wife made my stay more than memorable as he drove rally cars and has a stash of memorabilia (boys toys). As for the mill, it is over three floors and wooden stairs, with the ground floor containing the old mill works and storage for coats and shoes. There are only two large bedrooms but downstairs, living and dining area, could accommodate a further four persons if you don't mind being cosy. There is tea, coffee and milk already there, so a cuppa after the drive is a good thing. All bedding is more than ample even on the coldest day and Towels etc. are supplied. The directions are good from Cockermouth, just remember when entering the village from Dean the entrance is immediately before the bridge so you will need to slow coming down the hill. If you have a dog you will need to keep it on a lead as there is little pathways but a number of Pubs allow dogs into them, a good walk is towards Ullock where you can let them run as long as you control them if a car comes. As for food, The Duck, in the village does excellent food if you don't wish to travel and 2 for £10 meals available, with steak nights on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Go to Workington Golf Club (none members welcome) and get more than you can eat for £6.50. If you fancy Chinese then a short drive to Seaton (little village) and you will find the best in Cumbria (well that's what my brother in law says and he drives about 12 miles to get to it). Workington has a variety of food outlets but for that special occasion try Caspian's for 26onz steak (go on I dare you, I'm still suffering but worth it). Workington is now one of the best shopping areas on the West Coast surpassing that of Whitehaven and Barrow.

The cottage is in a beautiful location. It's really spacious, warm and comfortable and was the perfect base for our holiday. We loved the large open plan kitchen/dining/living room - perfect for spending quality family time together. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. We would recommend this cottage to anyone and would love to revisit again.
