Welsh Country Cottages

From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

Description

Walk along the Ceredigion coastline, visit Iron Age settlements and sandy beaches from this holiday property.

Lying peacefully in a rural location and just a stone’s throw away from the dramatic Ceredigion coastline, this row of traditional Welsh holiday barns (refs OR3, OR4 and OR5) have been sympathetically restored to a high standard, making it a perfect touring base for couples looking for an adventure. Lluest Cottages have been tastefully decorated throughout and equipped with all the appropriate amenities for an unforgettable experience. Each cottage has its own enclosed lawn garden with a patio area where guests can sit, relax and unwind whilst watching the red kites soar over the magnificent scenery or enjoy the wildlife beyond the garden in the woodlands, fields and pond areas that are part of the property. The area itself has lots to offer, including fantastic walks along the Ceredigion coastline, famous for its horseshoe coves, Iron Age settlements and sandy beaches, where bottlenose dolphins and seals can be spotted on a clear day! The picturesque harbour towns of Newquay and Aberaeron offer unblemished beaches, restaurants, boutique shopping and art galleries that are waiting to be explored. Away from the coast, Ceredigion’s countryside is just as promising, with an array of charming market towns and historic castles dotted around the county. For an adventurous day out, take a short drive to the rugged Cambrian Mountains and explore the Cors Caron Nature Reserve, which flourishes with wildlife and the historic ruins of Strata Florida Abbey, which is one of Wales’ most important historical sites. Beach 2½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Spacious open-plan living/dining room with piano, electric fire, French doors and galley-style kitchen area with tiled floor. Open tread stairs to first floor: Two double bedrooms, one with 5ft bed and en-suite bathroom with separate shower cubicle and toilet, one with bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

The Coach House is lovely, very clean and comfortable and a perfect place for a holiday. The welcome pack of tea, milk, freshly baked bread, jam plus cheese and chutney was so thoughtful and we really appreciated it. We had a great holiday as did the dogs. We couldn't have asked for a better place.

Wonderful holiday. The Coach House is superb in every way. Beautifully restored & presented by the owner family who are welcoming, approachable & friendly. Thoughtfully prepared welcome tray to include fresh bread, homemade chutney & jam, locally produced cheese....delicious! Lovely, safe enclosed garden for our dogs & even bowls supplied for them. Scenic rural walks from the door. Cottage very comfortable in every way, with plenty of room & storage space. The bathrooms are equipped with very efficient showers & always plenty of piping hot water. Congratulations to Pam, Graham and family with best wishes for their continuing success. We hope they will have us back in the future!

Top to bottom this property is kept like our own home. Fitted with hand crafted furnishings by the owners and plenty of extras. Having been the first to use it last year we were not at all surprised by a friendly and helpful welcome.

Just a small critism in that with the immersion heaters being in the bedroom, it did get quite warm when the automated windows closed. Provision of a fan would have been perfect. Our dogs loved the holiday and the accommodation was perfect for them.

This is a recently converted barn conversion, which has been done to a high standard and was well equipped. The two bedrooms and bathrooms were also excellent. Every sound from downstairs could be heard upstairs because of the design and no carpeting anywhere. The patio area outside was good , but the small grassed lawned was horrible, possibly due to poor drainage , not due to dog use- however we did want a grass area for the dog to use. The whole of the outside area was like a building site and not particularly nice to come home to. While I accept building was continuing in another barn, the whole frontage was unkempt and there were several old decaying vehicles in the yard. There was a good walk up the lane and into a field to exercise the dog. The property was convenient for exploring the nearby towns and villages. The internet connection was poor for our Mac connection.
