Such a lovely weekend, we couldn't have wished for a cosier, more romantic cottage. Loved the massive shower, underfloor heating and the homely farmhouse kitchen which had everything we could need. I also loved that it was in the grounds of such a lovely house and the owner couldn't have been more welcoming. We would definitely recommend this property!

We had a lovely week at the Coach House - one of the best we can remember. It was exceptionally clean and very well-equipped.

You need to be aware that the entire property is overlooked by the owners who live approx. 15 yards away and their drive runs the entire length of the property. The cottage has lots of character however the main sofa has seen better days. The TV is good and large, and there is a blueray dvd player, there is freeview but limited channels. There is no Internet which is a great pity, as phone reception on Vodafone is patchy. One problem was in the kitchen where an ants nest erupted from the wall behind the bin, we had hundreds of them including flying ones, luckily being old hands at self catering we had ant spray, although took two cans to eradicate. On leaving we cleaned and tidied and stripped the bed etc. The next day after leaving the owner called and virtually accused my wife of stealing the duvet, due to it being paper thin he had picked up with the bedding and not noticed ( we found out as he called and told us), this upset my wife terribly.

This is comfortable and well appointed accommodation in a peaceful setting convenient for coastal and eastern areas of mid Suffolk. There are however, some drawbacks to the cottage. It is impossible to make the bedroom dark enough to counter mid summer early morning light at approx. 4.00 a.m. There are three full length windows with only one covered by an adequate weight curtain - the other two with venetian blinds which cannot possibly be light proof even when fully closed. There is also a stained glass panel above the door which allows in light from the large skylight in the adjacent hallway. This was an issue for us during our stay first week in June. The pet friendly status of the property was very apparent from the evidence of dog hairs on the soft furnishings and throw rugs in the lounge (in fact one previous reviewer comments about using these as dog blankets). Free view T.V. reception was poor with only a fraction of available channels and frequent signal losses. This is apparently common in this part of Suffolk, so much so that the owner states that in his own house situated adjacently he has installed Sky, but has not bothered doing this for the Coach House. We also experienced problems with the bathroom basin plug as noted by a previous reviewer and had to resort to freeing it with a kitchen knife. On reporting this to the owner he said he had been aware of this for some time. On balance this is a nice place to stay for a short holiday but in relation to our personal experiences of rental cottages over a number of years we feel that it is somewhat over priced.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay if you want peace and relaxation which is exactly what we needed! Everything you need without exception. Sorry but have to mention the 'small' bed which didn't suit my 6'3" husband but not inconvenient enough to spoil our break - if this was remedied it would be perfect!

My wife and I spent a most wonderful few days at the Coach House in May. Everything was of a really nice standard and the owners particularly kind and helpful (posted back the very next day a pair of spectacles we had left behind) and we would both highly recommend the accommodation without reserve.

We loved the Coach House, it is situated in an ideal setting not too far from the main road making it easy to get anywhere. The Coach House is set in the grounds of the owner's property and is spacious, airy and very clean with quality accessories. The wooded area is ideal for a quick walk with the dogs and all the places we visited were very dog friendly. We had a great time despite the weather being pretty cold and changeable. Thank you Ian for sharing this lovely property.

Another, perfect holiday at The Coach House. A joy to return.Ian is the perfect host-available should needs be,but totally unobtrusive. Always, a warm welcome with the lovely touch of a welcome gift of wine and flowers on the table. The cottage is immaculately clean. Always lovely and warm -the underfloor heating in the bedroom and wet room make it very cosy! The cottage has been lovingly and creatively restored, using many of the orginal beams and bricks for flooring and kitchen fixtures. The cottage has many imaginative, artistic touches and full of character. The lovely, large roomy settee is really one to snuggle into on a cold evening! The chaise longue, just right for a relaxing read set by a window. Bertie, our eleven -year-old Shih-Tzu was made most welcome,he loved the walks in the adjoining wood. We have already booked to return in September. Ian has provided lots of extra touches like books, board games, blankets to cover furniture for dogs, and even a water bowl and ball! We returned home relaxed, and felt we had been away much longer! Thank you Ian, for making our stay such, a happy one in every way. See you soon!
