Enjoy a relaxing break in Dulverton and take in the superb scenery in the area, as well as visiting many picturesque villages.

This characteristic, 15th-century cottage with its thatched roof and unusual feature of terracotta tiled exterior make this a unique holiday destination. Although having all the old charm outside, internally the cottage has been finished to a very good standard and provides a comfortable and convenient interior. The semi-detached cottage is situated in the Exmoor town of Dulverton not far from the banks of the River Barle. So, whether you want to wander into the town centre, enjoy one of the local pubs and restaurants, or sit by the river and watch the world pass by, all this can be done without having to step foot in the car. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on Exmoor and many other places to visit to make a memorable holiday. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), valley of the rocks and the funicular cliff railway are close by. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to enjoy a relaxing walk and an ice cream, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. The West Somerset Railway is worth a visit for those with an interest in steam engines. Dunster Castle (NT) and village, with its beautiful terraced gardens, Deer Park and Mill will make for an interesting day out as well as Porlock Weir. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor for all to enjoy. Shop, pub and restaurant 10 yards.

Ground floor: Living room with beams and slate floor. Dining room with beams. Kitchen with tiled floor. Utility room. Shower room with toilet. First floor: 4 bedrooms: 2 double, 2 twin. Bathroom with antique bath and toilet.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Washer/dryer. Wi-fi. Parking (2 cars). No smoking.

The Boot was comfortable, warm and clean with an adequately supplied kitchen to serve all the family and visitors that came during our stay. Towels were supplied and the beds were comfortable: we truly enjoyed our weekend. If there was anything I would change or improve on, it would be the toilet systems: the upstairs bathroom flush refused to work on several occasions and it would take several rapid of the chain to get the aging sifon to operate: a very noisey action especially when children are in bed. The downstairs bathroom is in fact lovely with excellent shower but on my first push of the flush, the button broke resulting in a 33 mile drive to B&Q to get a replacement, the loo was fixed on my return. These were only small incidents and didn't mar or spoil our stay: it was simply fabulous. The parking outside the property is limited to one vehicle but there can be parking on the opposite side of the road when locals more there cars and there is a large car park just a few steps away and for a small fee it met all our needs.

We stayed at this great holiday home during the February half term. The furnishings are of good quality and very comfortable, with plenty of crockery. It is well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge freezer. Everything was very clean and the house was cosy and warm. The sitting room is incredibly spacious with 4 two seat sofas. There is a wood burning stove and a starter pack of logs is supplied. Dogs are welcome for an extra fee, per week. There is a utility room that is very useful for drying wet coats and keeping boots. The beautiful oak dining room table sits 8 people very comfortably. Six of us stayed here including two teenagers, who were happy because there is WIFI. All the downstairs floors are tiled and upstairs is carpeted. There is a downstairs shower room and the upstairs bathroom has a 'vintage shaped' bath - no shower. There are 2 twin rooms and 2 doubles, one of which has a TV. Each room has a set of drawers and side tables. There is plenty of wardrobe space which is built into cleverly designed cupboards, on the large upstairs landing. It is important to understand that there is no garden, which suited us because we stayed in the winter. The parking spaces for the property are directly in front of the sitting room and dining room windows. If you have one car, or two small cars that would be fine, but it is tight. We were able to find parking in the road, directly opposite the house, but you can pre-purchase a car park ticket for a weekly fee of £20. The car park is about 200 yards around the corner. The house is supplied with only 1 key, but there is a key lock safe outside the back door (which is at the side of the property). We would certainly stay here again and would recommend this property to others.

We enjoyed our Christmas visit to Dulverton. The hunt arrived Boxing Day morning. Local residents very friendly and the copper kettle breakfast the best. Only issues there was scaffolding up the outside of the cottage/Inn which we had not been made aware of before hand. New thatching in process. Also dogs welcome but no outside area at the premises for them. So walking early mornings a must. Due to scaffolding no parking at premises also not advised of. A very picturess building which we did not have the benefit of.

Had been informed that there was parking for 2 vehicles but when we arrived, all 4 cars!!!, there was scaffolding all over the property and parking was impossible without blocking the entire footpath. No one told us before hand and that was one of the main reasons for booking this particular cottage!

Fantastic house with lots of space. Very clean and comfortable. Had everything you needed . Great location next to the pub and village shops. Stones throw to the river where you could paddle. Shame it didn't have anywhere to sit outside; it Could have been clearer on details that not even a yard. Overall was great and loved the area.

A lovely cottage, really needs to be advertised as having only one car parking space. Advertising it as having two spaces is very misleading.
