Enjoy a relaxing break in Dulverton and take in the superb scenery in the area, as well as visiting many picturesque villages.

This characteristic, 15th-century cottage with its thatched roof and unusual feature of terracotta tiled exterior make this a unique holiday destination. Although having all the old charm outside, internally the cottage has been finished to a very good standard and provides a comfortable and convenient interior. The semi-detached cottage is situated in the Exmoor town of Dulverton not far from the banks of the River Barle. So, whether you want to wander into the town centre, enjoy one of the local pubs and restaurants, or sit by the river and watch the world pass by, all this can be done without having to step foot in the car. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on Exmoor and many other places to visit to make a memorable holiday. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), valley of the rocks and the funicular cliff railway are close by. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to enjoy a relaxing walk and an ice cream, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. The West Somerset Railway is worth a visit for those with an interest in steam engines. Dunster Castle (NT) and village, with its beautiful terraced gardens, Deer Park and Mill will make for an interesting day out as well as Porlock Weir. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor for all to enjoy. Shop, pub and restaurant 10 yards.

Lovely cottage, full of character and beautifully furnished, very comfortable sitting room with a wood burning stove. Well stocked kitchen and immaculately clean throughout. The bedrooms are furnished attractively, not especially large but that reflects the age and type of building. Nice bathroom with freestanding claw foot bath and there’s a shower room downstairs.

A lovely cottage with plenty of room downstairs for socialising with friends and the large dining table was great too. The bedrooms are cosy and fairly small but it is absolutely fine for two nights or families with small children rather than 8 adults like us. The shower was a real let down as the water was way too hot and we were instructed not to adjust it. Other than that, the cottage was great and we had a lovely weekend in the quaint village of Dulverton!

Response on behalf of the owner: We are really sorry the shower was an issue, it was only installed in March. It has been repaired under warranty, on the 13th July, we are glad you still enjoyed your holiday.

Quite simply, a great cottage in a fantastic location. The Bridge Inn is next door, great food, beer and staff, all you need is here.

Fantastic holiday at the boot with my family. Living room was the perfect social space for everyone. Loved the character of the cottage and in a perfect location to explore local exmoor and the surrounding coast.

This is a lovely cottage in a lovely location. The parking wasn't great with limited spaces around and I expected in the summer it would be very busy the shower didn't work properly and the oven is in need of some TLC but we had a lovely stay and would recommend it as great value for money.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback, the shower has now been replaced so is much more efficient.
