An extremely warm welcome - as we arrived at the barn romantic music was playing and candles were lit. There were many thoughtful touches throughout - milk, juice, bacon already in the fridge and fresh bread and muffins on the kitchen table. It is a beautiful property and we had a lovely time. We only met one of the hosts, who was extremely welcoming and delightful to chat to. It was clear that the hosts had really tried to go out of their way to think of everything to make our stay the best they could. Unfortunately, our stay was tarnished somewhat after we left by receiving a text message from the host (that we didn't meet) commenting on the mess we had left the accommodation in. My partner and I were shocked and upset, as we had only left a couple of dishes drying (after washing them up) and two glass bottles by the bin as we were unsure as to whether there were recycling facilities. My partner owns his own self-catering cottages, so we would be the first to sympathise with messy guests - which I must say that we were not - and we were rather perplexed and hurt to receive the rather blunt and unnecessary message. If we set that incident aside, we would highly recommend it, it truly was a delightful little getaway that far exceeded our expectations.

Response on behalf of the Owner; I would like to thank the guests for the kind words about our barn. We are glad they enjoyed their stay. However, I did feel I had to send the text message as unfortunately upon departure, the property was left in an unacceptable condition which required extra cleaning. It is stated within the booking conditions that guests are to leave the property as they find it.

An extremely comfortable, well equipped & stylish venue. The hosts made themselves known on our arrival & were only to happy to be of help should we need it. A welcome package was a thoughtful touch & used! We had a super stay & wouldn't hesitate to return.

What a lovely relaxing place to stay with everything you need. A really warm welcome from the owner along with some goodies. It is a 15 minute walk into town, but remember to take your torch!! Would definitely stay again.
