With our 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren, we had an excellent and comfortable stay. Grandchildren (ages 4-8) loved the house, excellent access without long car journeys to local walks and attractions. Biddulph Gardens, Little Moreton Hall, Gladstone Pottery Museum (in Stoke - excellent for children) within easy reach, walks from the house and in Manifold Valley and round Buxton. Only concern - safety issue mentioned below (also mentioned to Mr Weaver, and noted by previous renters in house book but still outstanding).

Absolutely lovely cottage, owner very accommodating and helpful. For the record the showers are great! I don't know what the other review was about, but each room has an ensuite, the showers are power showers and are nothing to worry about! The cottage could do with some coat hooks in the hallway, but I let the owner know and he said he will get that organised. There are plenty of glasses, but could do with a few more mugs as we are keen tea drinkers and they ran out quite quickly. I would happily stay there again, and are planning something next year. For large groups its ideal, as you could book two cottages (they are in the same building) and still feel independent.

It was ideal for us and better that it rained so we stayed in and enjoyed ourselves more than if we had gone out. we had 3 cars and found it was tricky to go out 'in convoy'. Extremely well equipped for a large gathering, and very relaxed atmosphere. Owners were there if needed but never interfered.

Our group of friends have stayed here 3 times. It's very peaceful, has every possible amenity and is great for a relaxing, restful break. Highly recommended.

The cottage is lovely and looks better than on the pictures. It is in a great location for exploring the Peak District. The owners are lovely and having horses in the field was a great delight to the kids. The hob and grill could do with an upgrade but they worked fine once you got used to it. Some of the beds are firm so won't be to everyone's preferences. All rooms are great sizes and 10 of us were more than comfortable. We went out every day and cooked in the well stocked kitchen every night.

The cottage was lovely but slightly cold and the showers didn't work at all either had to be scolding or freezing

I was incredibly happy with the cottage itself. Loads of space, really comfortable, incredibly clean. To be honest the location let it down a bit in that we struggled to go on a nice walk straight from the cottage. We could have easily driven somewhere nice though, so we've really only our inability to plan to blame. We saw a review that said the cottage was cold so we packed hot water bottles. That review should be ignored or removed, we perfectly toasty throughout our two night stay. I've marked the equipment down slightly as the showers didn't get very hot and didn't stay warm for long either. But the kitchen equipment was all fine. I'm really looking forward to our next visit.
