Thalassa is a well-equipped but strangely ramshackle, cluttered and not very well laid out place to stay. Pagham is not a thing of beauty, but has well above average pubs at which to eat, a good fish and chip shop and Co-op handy to Thalassa, and is well placed for visiting places such as Arundel and Chichester. We were blessed by he weather and had a good week's holiday but the owners of Thalassa, who apparently live in Vienna and therefore one assumes are not short of cash, might want to spend a bob or two on their railway carriage accommodation.

Pagham is a slightly leftfield holiday destination, but we had a great time. The cottage is wonderfully quirky and the beach view is fantastic - everything else is secondary to these two huge selling points. Here are some things that you might find useful to know: the photos of the cottage don't do it justice at all - it's much bigger than you imagine; we visited with an elderly relative who found the place really comfortable; the property next door is being rebuilt this year (2015), but it didn't spoil our holiday at all; there's a piano; there's a dryer as well as a washing machine; there are two large living areas; blinds have been put up which address any issues about privacy mentioned in other reviews; the shower is old but really good (although not ideal for tall folk); the CD player has an 'aux-in' option, so if you take a jack-to-jack headphone cable you'll be able to play music from mobiles/tablets; yes, the kitchen is small but it's perfectly serviceable for a holiday; there's a small Co-op store just around the corner, and several take-away food options; the cottage is really warm (we had no previous experience of Economy 7 radiators, but it was absolutely fine); the amusement arcade (full of heritage machines which children and adults all loved) is just a couple of doors down the road. We hope to visit again in the future!
