Very warm, well equipped & cosy cottage. We have been twice. Sadly, there are so many things wrong that spoil what could be a perfect place to stay. We had trouble with the electrics last time, and other people have suffered the same thing. There are light bulbs missing, out of date or missing instructions etc. , which are niggling but spoil what should be a 5 star cottage.

Only negative was a fairly heavy kerosene smell in kitchen

This cottage is supposed to be dog friendly, it is not. We have taken our dogs to cottages all over England and there has always been a SECURE garden/patio area where dogs can be let out and not escape. There are usually adequate towels, mats, bowels etc. but always facilities and equipment for dealing with POOH but not here. We had to go into Hawes to an ironmonger to get a small steel shovel to clean up the yard which was mainly covered with gravel. We were not happy. The cottage inside was excellent and in a good location.

A beautiful well equipped cosy cottage close to some very nice eating pubs would definitely recommend and stay again

Lovely cottage with all local amenities close at hand and in a good location for exploring the area. Great for us that they allowed pets but disappointed that the driveway wasn't secure and it seems that the people in the cottage next door have right of way along the driveway. We let the dogs out only to find the gate (which had no latch and had to be wedged closed) had been left open. Happy to stay again but please secure the gate and let people know that people from next door may be using the driveway.

Only problem was the lack of hot water

Lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales. Great that our dogs could come and enjoy it too.

We had no hot water or heating for the first night due to a problem with the boiler. The boiler is fuelled by kerosene and the kitchen smells very strongly of this. We could still smell it on our clothes when we returned home. The access to the parking area is very narrow which is not helped by neighbours parking either side of it which makes gain access difficult.
