The best holiday home we have ever stayed in. All of the rating options fully deserve 10. The location would have got higher had there been a chance. Truly a little piece of heaven on earth.

Very nice cottage, I did at times feel a little cool and would have liked to have had the ability to turn the heating up.

If you want a well equipped, beautifully located, isolated get away holiday then this is ideal. The property is very well maintained, with a particularly well equipped kitchen. Living room furniture is comfortable and of good quality. TV does require some attention/replacement ~ it works fine but takes an age to respond to remote commands, if it responds at all. Frustrating but a minor niggle. Matresses and bed comfort is OK, but not great. We felt that this aspect let down the overall luxury feeling of the cottage. There is no land line here, thus no internet access at all. This is a serious oversight I feel, given the age we live in. OK, you can argue that this type of cottage is a get away so no internet could be a boon, but we missed 'net access. For those of a younger generation, or those with children, I think that this could well be a real problem. There is mobile coverage, but this did drop out frequently inside (Vodafone). No 3G or 4G, just GPRS. Overall we had an excellent holiday in a wonderful cottage, but just a bit more attention to detail would really raise the level to a truly luxurious experience.

This was our third visit and we have thoroughly enjoyed each stay at Swallow's Nest. The cottage is beautifully presented and comfortable, as well as spotlessly clean. The location is tranquil with amazing views over the lake and surrounding countryside. A delightful retreat for rest and relaxation which we heartily recommend.
