Beautifully and ingeniously converted cottage. Very pleasant owners and delightful cats. Tranquil outlook on to large pond with water lilies. Good base for exploring area. Very good eateries within easy reach.

The cottage is set in beautiful grounds and is well positioned for exploring Suffolk. However, despite the lovely conservatory, the rest of the house is very limited for space with little in the way of modern equipment, particularly in the kitchen. The bedrooms/ensuite shower rooms/storage for clothes were very poor with the shower/toilet only divided from the bedroom by a curtain. Anyone over 5ft 8ins has the problem of a sloping roof to contend with, particularly in the ensuite. On the whole the property did not come up to the standard we have come to expect of similarly priced and rated cottages.

This cottage has been modernised and converted to a high standard. There is a real sense of style and a flair for interior design evident everywhere. The conservatory is delightful and the whole place is cosy and practical. The grounds are lovely, with a large pond full of carp which come to the side of the terrace to be fed. St Margaret's Ilketshall is an ideal base for visiting Southwold, Bungay, Aldeburgh, Dunwich Heath and many other interesting destinations. We would happily return.

After a very busy year, Swallows nest was the ideal place to be. The only downside was that we only booked one week rather than two or more. It really is a beautiful cottage and provides a restful setting to either re-charge batteries or as a base for touring east Anglia. Even thought the weather wasn't perfect during our stay, Swallows Nest provided ample room to relax, read, listen to music and cook. It provides space and privacy for a wonderfully quiet and relaxing break. We would MOST CERTAINLY visit again.

The cottage was very comfortable, & came well equipped. The view from the bedroom balcony was lovely, especially when the sun was setting. The garden was nicely secluded, & we have a free run of the pond area & the patio around it. The owners made us very welcome on arrival.
