Perfect base for exploring this part of Suffolk. Hosts friendly and attentive. Loved the rather quirky accommodation, but understand that owners have immanent plans to upgrade and refresh.

I was close to burn-out at work, and ran away here in a bitterly cold February with just my dog & my elderly mum. The cottage is a tasteful barn conversion, clever use of space, cosy, colourful, spotlessly clean & warm as toast. Maggie & Eric are perfect hosts, delightful to talk to, nothing is too much trouble but happy to leave you to enjoy yourselves without invading your privacy. Wonderful place for a dog owner, as there's a secure garden and DOZENS of walks, footpaths everywhere including one that starts just the other side of the road, by a round-towered church with nesting doves. The conservatory is a fantastic bonus: when the sun came out you could wear a t-shirt in there despite the vicious winter. There are plenty of places to explore by car, but the village is pretty remote by English standards, this is all farmland, so if you need lots of pubs & fine dining, do your research and be prepared to drive. But if you like to walk, and otherwise relax, curled up in quiet, cosy surroundings, this is the place for you. I will definitely go back.

We have been to Swallows nest 9 times now and love this gorgeous cottage. The surrounding areas are perfect for walking our 2 dogs and the hosts Maggie and Eric are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. Will be going back again next year

The cottage was basically furnished with equipment that was no more than adequate

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I’m so sorry that Ronald, responded negatively to his stay at swallow nest. When we asked Ronald and his party of guests if they were comfortable and satisfactory, we understood they were all happy and enjoying the surroundings and having a lovely time. We are taken a little by surprise at Ronald’s review taking into consideration our existing reviews from previous guests.

Fantastic! We had an absolutely fabulous week in Suffolk. Swallows Nest was everything we look for in a cottage and more.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The scenery around the cottage was very pretty & we enjoyed feeding the fish & stroking the cats. The ensuit bathrooms were very useful

My wife and I really enjoyed our second stay at this cottage and expect to be back again before too long. It has a calm and serene atmosphere. The owners live next door and are ready to help if you have a problem but otherwise, leave you to enjoy yourselves. Phoebe and Ralph, our two dogs, also enjoyed the use of the properly enclosed garden.
