Set in beautiful, peaceful gardens with summer house, is this detached bungalow for two, only minutes from the coast and Fowey.

Close to the coast

These four holiday cottages, Sunrise (ref: 25051) and Sunny Skies, (ref: 25052) which stand detached, and Summer Breeze (ref: 25053) and Sunset (ref: 27684), which are semi-detached, enjoy a perfect location for exploring all corners of Cornwall from Lands End in the west to Padstow on the north coast and Fowey, Looe and Polperro on the completely different south coast. The beautiful gardens provide a peaceful haven with summerhouse and children’s play area. The cottages lie just minutes from the south coast including the fishing village of Mevagissey and the seafaring town of Fowey with its royal regatta and Du Maurier Festival (Daphne du Maurier made the town her home). Nearby are the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the amazing Eden Project. Visit Truro, the capital of Cornwall with its Gothic cathedral, surrounded by narrow streets and alleyways lined with shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. St Austell Bay, just minutes away, has a stunning coastline which has pretty coastal towns and villages dotted along its edge. Charlestown is home to a collection of tall sailing ships, an historic harbour and Georgian architecture, all of which have been used as film and TV sets over many years. Porthpean has a lovely unspoilt beach, golf club and views across the bay. Visit Pentewan with picturesque cycle and walking trail along a river and through a 450-year-old woodland. Cycle hire is available from Easter onwards. Shop and restaurant 1½ miles, pub 1 mile.

This was a lovely place to stay, the cottage was very clean and very comfortable. Tania and Jon are welcoming and helpful. there was a rabbit hiding in the daffodils most mornings and fresh eggs to buy from the chickens in the field behind. The location is excellent for most of the local attractions. It is 15-20 mins to Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan, about 40 to Morgan Porth on the north coast or St Mawes for the Roseland Penninsula, about 25-30 to Fowey. The only downside is that there is nowhere to go out that is really easily walkable, but these are some pubs with very good food within a short drive.

Well appointed, cosy and comfortable cottage. The cottage layout is well thought out with good fixtures and fittings and we found it very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom is spacious with good fittings. The furniture is all comfortable and there is plenty of space for two people. We had a warm personal welcome from the owners and their dog (Toby) and they had thoughtfully provided lovely scones, jam and clotted cream which were very welcome after a long journey. Weather was a bit wild at times - it is February after all - but we were out and about every day and the cottage made a great base for exploring the area.

Wonderful cottage, Tania & Jon were lovely hosts and Toby (their dog) was a real charmer. Ideally suited for us visiting family in the area but the location was quiet save for the owls which was a treat, and being set back in the country suited us perfectly.

We had a thoroughly relaxing week in SUNRISE. The accommodation was warm, comfortable and well appointed. The owners were more than helpful and their Labrador was always about to welcome us on our return.

Tania and Jon were very helpful about places to go. Very quiet area and it felt like home. Cream tea prepared for our arrival was nice.

When we compared this cottage to the previous ten cottages we have stayed at around the UK we both agreed without any hesitation it is the best cottage we have stayed in with regard to all aspects. From the initial welcome accompanied with a delicious cream tea to a sad farewell 14 days later we were made to feel at home virtually everyday by Tanya and Jon, (mine hosts), including Toby the Lab. The location is excellent for both north and south coasts with Falmouth a gentle 45 mins away, the furthest we ventured. Can also recommend the White Pyramid PH less than a mile away that has a good choice of meals and is a gourmets delight . If like us you have a dog its alfresco only but as we had good weather it wasn't a problem. All in all then a 5* cottage/location that we can truly recommend without any hesitation. All being well we will definitely return in the not to distant future.
