Good holiday cottage, well located for exploring the lake district. Spacious attic bedroom plus two more bedrooms on first floor. Well equipped kitchen, with flagstone floor and rear door, so no problems with coming in when wet. Plenty of towels supplied, and lots of kitchen essentials.

It was lovely to have the barbecue provided - but it did take us quite some time to put it together - especially without tools!

In a good location the cottage is clean but a little tired in places the shower is not very powerful but overall it has what you need and it was a pleasant stay.

We had a lovely short break. The cottage is homely, cosy and generally well equipped. Beds were comfortable. The location is beautiful and we enjoyed some great walks, as well as just relaxing in the very pleasant garden as we were fortunate to have wonderful weather during our stay. There were a few minor shortcomings which we put down to wear and tear. A wooden bread board would be useful, and the plastic chopping board provided really needs replacing. No oven gloves, as a previous reviewer pointed out. There were a couple of other things but overall we felt the cottage met its 3 star rating and we would be happy to stay again.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you so much for your terrific score and brilliant comments which said everything which I feel is important. I think it is worth suggesting for future guests that if there are small things such as the chopping board with which you are not happy, just contact me, my housekeeper (numbers in the information folder) or the company you booked with and we will put it right there and then if we can. I very much appreciate your comments and I hope my feedback confirms my aim to ensure all our guests have a super holiday.

The cottage is really well located. You can set off on walks from the door, walk to the lake, access shops and restaurants. We didn't use the car at all during our four day stay. We were lucky with the weather, options are restricted in the Lake District when it's wet!

Cottage was fine for a weekend. Slightly basic, but comfortable. As weather was very cold, the heating could have been set a bit higher for arrivals. A couple of things to fix - dishwasher needed salt and rinse aid. Need a scourer to clean pots.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for taking the time to post a review, it is much appreciated. Just to confirm for future guests, the fully inclusive heating and hot water in Stybarrow View is switched on permanently with radiators in all rooms. There is additional heating in the lounge and kitchen. I do appreciate that the weather was extreme during your visit and will do my best to act on your suggestion and adjust the thermostats in advance. With regards to the dishwasher, the Finish" All in One" tablets supplied do not usually need salt and rinse aid but I will check this. I will also check that there is a scourer in place in future. I always welcome feedback and do my very best to respond to all suggestions my guests make. Stybarrow view scores at the top of the three star rating and I feel that overall, all reasonable expectations were met. I hope you visit again as we are continually striving to improve.
