Photos of barn do not do it justice even though they are good. Would definitely recommend this cottage to all. Lemon drizzle cake baked by the owner beats mine & I thought mine was very good. Looking forward to hopefully going again.

Skimblescott Barn itself was lovely - very spacious, clean and with a lovely enclosed garden for our 3 dogs, who loved it. We liked the owners very much too, who made a great effort to make up feel at home and welcome. The only "downside" for us was the location, and it was probably my fault for not having done my homework properly beforehand, but the nearest village was Much Wenlock, which was 7 miles away, and all the other places we'd heard of were quite a long drive away too, so we got exhausted just driving around to find things, and, of course, it got dark early and the farm gateway is NOT easy to find! We're both quite ancient - and "townies" too, so yes, the countryside IS beautiful, lovely views everywhere, but somehow we couldn't seem to find too many places where we could safely park and walk the dogs off-lead, and no nearby interesting little village shops even.

In these times the most important thing for the family is to spend time away from it all. This is the perfect place with no phone signal! Excellent facilities to eat in as well good places within driving distance to eat. It was perfect for us and the two kids.

Enjoyed our stay great accommidation, only down side for us was the hard mattress on the double bed...great for the dogs and good to be able to walk them on designated tracks.

Lovely to arrive to a fridge stocked with milk and orange juice. Fresh flowers in the lounge and a home made lemon drizzle cake were very much appreciated. Considering the freezing weather and the height of the ceilings, the barn was warm and cosy. Perfect safe garden area for the dog. Lovely surprise to see how close we were to the lambing shed. Owners on-site and very welcoming. Highly recommended.
