A clean and comfortable holiday property with panoramic views towards the Isle of Man and St Bees. Great seaside location and access to the Lakeland fells.

This wonderful beach-style cottage, accessed via unmade road/track, nestles right on the seashore overlooking the Irish Sea, with panoramic views towards the Isle of Man and St Bees Head. It is perfectly located for beachcombing, for watching the sunset, for stargazing in the clear night skies, and at the end of the day, let the sound of the sea lull you to sleep. This single-storey holiday property is suitable for all year round use and is ideal for experiencing a seaside location while being not too far from the western area of the Lake District National Park. Enjoy coastal and fell walking, bike trails, the C2C cycleway, golf at St Bees and Seascale, both with glorious sandy beaches. Take time to explore the green valleys of Eskdale, the splendour of Wasdale, take a trip on ‘La’al Ratty’, the miniature steam train on the narrow gauge railway at Ravenglass, stroll around the lake at Ennerdale, visit the Georgian town of Whitehaven and its popular harbour side, or take a tour of Muncaster Castle. A single track railway runs along the back of the property, which is reached by ½ mile of unmade road/track. Shop and pubs 2½ miles.

This was a really lovely place to stay. It had everything you could want and more. Warm, cosy and interesting, it offered several different places to enjoy your time there, either outside in the garden, breakfasting in the sunny rear patio, afternooning in the sun on the comfy equipment out the front, or of course roaming the pebbly beach, which was practically one's own private domain (even in July!). Inside the cottage was a comfortable lounge, a pleasant dining area and also the lovely (albeit narrow) conservatory with 2 types of seating areas, both with fantastic views of the ever changing seascape. Everything in the place worked well and was easy to use. So many little 'extras' were provided that you don't normally get in a holiday rental. We loved it. And we loved the remoteness of the place - it was, quite literally, off the beaten track.

This is a fantastic cottage in a very relaxing setting - once you arrive, the roads to and from the cottage are a bit of a nightmare but the cottage and owners are absolutely marvellous. You have everything you need in the house, local supermarkets are 6 miles away so if you are looking for a quiet escape from the world - then Seaside Cottage is it!

Lovely cottage with wonderful views over to the Isle of Man. Comfortable and well equipped. What could be nicer than sitting in the sunroom with a glass of vino watching the sunset over the sea. Beach is not very nice - stoney, but it's only a few minutes drive to St Bees where the sandy beach goes on for miles when the tide is out. We had some lovely days out in the lakes, Wast Water was spectacular.

This has to be one of the nicest cottages I've ever stayed in! The view from the conservatory across the front of the cottage was absolutely amazing! Breathtaking sunsets and a lovely place to sit eating your breakfast and gazing out onto the sea. The beds were comfy, the furniture was all very comfortable in fact! There were some lovely touches - such as the welcome pack (my dog felt very welcome!) and the DVDs, books, games, stone painting kit, doggy blankets - in fact so many things you probably wouldn't think to take with you on holiday. Luckily, we had amazing weather all week so didn't need to amuse ourselves inside during wet weather! The decoration was all really well thought out and co-ordinated thematically. The kitchen equipment was amazing! Had I ever got a moment to get bored I could even have done some baking! As others have said, a dishwasher would have been nice, but that's just me being lazy. I really liked the shower room and the utility room - they were nice and modern-looking. The towels were lovely and fluffy! The train running behind the garden was actually quite good fun - we kind of knew the timetable by the end of the week! And I couldn't believe how much equipment there was in the outside storage! It was also very thoughtful of the owners to leave recycling boxes, as that's something I don't feel right not doing. The parking was great. We didn't use the drive, but there were at least two spaces opposite the house overlooking the sea. The only downside to the whole week was the scary track down to the beach and the row of properties themselves. I was glad I wasn't driving! But it was totally worth it for the privacy and the view. We found nice takeaways in Egremont, only a 15 or so minute drive away, and this really was a nice base from which to explore the lesser-known lakes in the area. It was amazing to be able to see the Isle of Man from the doorstep. And to have the beach to yourself at nearly any time of day! Although it's a pebbly beach, there are little sections that have been cleared of stones, so I actually sat out on the beach a couple of times and had the whole place to myself! I would imagine if you were into that sort of thing it would be a great place for yoga or meditation! All in all we had a fantastic week in Seaside Cottage! Thank you so much to the owners for keeping such a lovely place.

Superb cottage in a superb location. Many hours spent sitting in the sun room watching the ever changing sea scape. Little touches throughout made such a difference, the owners clearly want to give their guests the best possible experience . A feeling of isolation yet in reality within a few minutes of St Bees and a short drive from all the Lakes has to offer. To walk out of the property onto the beach was simply wonderful.
