locally not much around and egremont which is the nearest main place is quite run down with alot of empty buildings. the beach is shale and pebbles and not able to walk on it which was a shame, even our jack russell could not walk on it. the cottage was comfortable and enclosed which is important when owning a dog. but we prefer the lakes further south.

Fantastic! A beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. Thoughtful hosts meant this was the best equipped holiday rental we have ever stayed in. Lovely and warm even as the Siberian weather approached! Blue skies and fabulous sunsets, enjoyed from the sun room. Just a perfect weekend getaway.

A great place to stay, with all you need at the location. Tesco even delivers food! The cottage is brilliant and Sue is lovely, all that you need is there, towels, dog towels, blankets, dog water bowl, kitchen cleaning products, fully equipped kitchen and utility room for clothes washing, toiletries, you name it, it was there, great views of the Irish sea, beautiful sunsets, even when it rained we had a lovely time as the cottage has so many games and jigsaws. Local amenities are poor, however we didn’t go there for that, the peace and quiet, the views and the accommodation are all fantastic. We would stay again. I could'nt imagine anybody not enjoying this retreat from the real world.

Great seaside location with sandy beach just a short walk away. Immaculate, cosy and warm cottage and every detail thought about with care by the owner. We particularly enjoyed watching the sea and the sunsets from the conservatory.

This was a really lovely place to stay. It had everything you could want and more. Warm, cosy and interesting, it offered several different places to enjoy your time there, either outside in the garden, breakfasting in the sunny rear patio, afternooning in the sun on the comfy equipment out the front, or of course roaming the pebbly beach, which was practically one's own private domain (even in July!). Inside the cottage was a comfortable lounge, a pleasant dining area and also the lovely (albeit narrow) conservatory with 2 types of seating areas, both with fantastic views of the ever changing seascape. Everything in the place worked well and was easy to use. So many little 'extras' were provided that you don't normally get in a holiday rental. We loved it. And we loved the remoteness of the place - it was, quite literally, off the beaten track.

This is a fantastic cottage in a very relaxing setting - once you arrive, the roads to and from the cottage are a bit of a nightmare but the cottage and owners are absolutely marvellous. You have everything you need in the house, local supermarkets are 6 miles away so if you are looking for a quiet escape from the world - then Seaside Cottage is it!

Lovely cottage with wonderful views over to the Isle of Man. Comfortable and well equipped. What could be nicer than sitting in the sunroom with a glass of vino watching the sunset over the sea. Beach is not very nice - stoney, but it's only a few minutes drive to St Bees where the sandy beach goes on for miles when the tide is out. We had some lovely days out in the lakes, Wast Water was spectacular.
