It is only half a mile from the picturesque village of Brighstone with its thatched roof shops and cottages, pub, restaurant and small museum. This welcoming home has a well equipped kitchen, a conservatory and sea views from the master bedroom. This area is fantastic for scenic walking. Footpaths from the house lead to breathtaking routes across miles of Heritage coastline or onto the Downs, joining the popular Tennyson Trail leading to Tennyson Down with its monument and on to the Needles. West High Down and Headon Warren are other popular walks in the area. Quiet lanes and off-road trails make the area ideal for cycling, and the sign-posted 60 mile ’Round the Island’ cycle route passes through the village. The unspoilt west coast beaches, including the secluded, sandy bay of Compton is within a 10-minute drive, and plenty of outdoor pursuits including sailing, fishing, golf, cycling, paragliding and watersports can be found locally. Within easy reach are many tourist attractions, including the Needles, Blackgang Chine, pottery painting at Chessell, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Calbourne Water Mill, Dinosaur Isle, Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, The Garlic Farm and many more. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

    This was our 6th stay over a number of years, enjoyed it as much as ever. The Lane is an unmade Road which might be unsuitable for cars with low suspension. Property was clean and tidy and very comfortable. Good view from conservatory and lounge over rear hills. Garden is dog friendly. Village shops nearby but probably best to drive there, with larger supermarket in nearby Freshwater ten minutes away. We shall be returning.

    Had another wonderful holiday at Sandrock, been twice this year. A lovely cottage with a big enclosed garden, fantastic if you've got a dog like we do. Wouldn't hesitate to book the cottage again, it's a great base for visiting the island and went down Compton Bay most mornings to walk the dogs. Ruth, Andy, Linda, Glenn and the dogs George and Rex

    We thought that the cottage was lovely. It had everything you could possibly need. There was plenty of room and the garden was amazing. The Island is not that big so with a vehicle it really doesn't matter where you are your not that far away from wherever your going. There is a walk from the door of the cottage to take the dog on a quick walk. The lane that the cottage is on is so very quiet. The only people down there are the occupants of the few cottages that are further along the lane.

    Sandrock is a lovely house, however, some of the accessories and garden furniture are now old and in need of replacement. There is an ongoing outstanding repair required to the shower head, which still has not been done, making showers difficult. The access to the house is up a very uneven single steep track, with a sharp right hand turn into the steep drive, so this is also a consideration. Having said all that, it really is a lovely house, in lovely surroundings, so if the little impressionable things are considered and put right, you'll enjoy your stay at Sandrock if the access is not a problem for you.

    We had a very pleasant stay in this well appointed cottage. It has beautiful views of Limestone Down from the back garden. We did lots of circular walks from the cottage without having to use the car and the best bit was having dog friendly pubs at the end and during our walks.

    We had a lovely fortnight at Sandrock. The weather was great and the island a joy as always. The cottage was very clean, in good condition, in a good location for us and had just about everything we needed, although a couple of sun loungers would have been useful. The garden was also well maintained. All in all we had a fantastic holiday. Thank you for the welcome pack and for letting us stay in your lovely cottage.
