Arrived - 1st week of April 2016 Wow - pulling up to this cottage leaves a lasting memory for life. The images and description on the site do not give it justice. It is absolutely beautiful! We all flew into the house with such enthusiasm and the views from the house did not disappoint. We were welcomed by the house keeper who had limited English but was very friendly, I always find this quite awkward as when staying in English properties you rarely have this and I don't personally like it. We were shown every room when really all we wanted to do lick back, throw the kids in the pool, open a bottle of wine and enjoy some bread and cheese after a very long journey! We then had to sit down with the housekeeper to pay upfront for cleaning (will come back to this), Linen (will come back to this) and the tax upfront. We were also asked for a deposit which we were not prepared for. The location of the property is truly marvellous with 180 degree views, you do need a car as decent supermarket, restaurants and activities are all a good 15 mins drive away. The house has everything you need - but is not luxurious! It is a bit like walking into someone elses home who has just popped out for the day. The main areas were clean, but not fresh and certainly not a house that sparkled. Interior glass in showers and sky lights had not seen a clean in a long while, the glass covered pool area also need a good old jet wash. Luckily and most importantly the main windows looking out onto the view were spotless. The house was comfortable, slightly rustic and incredibly good value for money. No doubt if it was state of the art and showroom style accommodation you could at least double the cost to stay there. We loved it and are so very glad we could afford it. We just had to put up with old soap bars at sinks, filthy utility cupboards, a cloakroom used as a cushion store with gardeners gloves left at the sink for good measure. (Not a complaint really, I would just like anyone else visiting to be prepared) I hope it doesn't change as it would push it out of our price range and I cannot wait to return! Not sure I will ever be brave enough to try out the brand new sauna for one, plonked in the cellar/store-shed amongst a host of clobber (bit like my garage at home). Linen charges. This totalled 100 euros for one set of linen pp. We arrived to find it left on beds (yep you have to make your own) it was also damp. - Not good - (luckily we found lots more in a downstairs cupboard) Next time we will either bring our own or buy it when we get there, or indeed do neither, use the linen already there and wash and clean it again prior to vacating. I also think a one hundred and twenty euro cleaning charge was a joke. That house can only have had a couple of hours cleaning tops! I think a lot is spent on the garden, which although lovely should not I believe be something that comes out of the customers pocket. However all this said, we were very happy, loved that we could afford it and really want to visit again soon. It could do with a visitor book!

House was absolutely very very dirty and it was a disgrace. If I hadn't gone with another family I wouldn't have stayed it was that bad. You don't go away on holiday to spend time in houses that are dirty and unkept - I'd have done better staying at home.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We have been renting our property for close to ten years with a level of satisfaction reaching 100%, this comment as an exception. We work with two cleaning ladies. Each look after a part of the house and once they finish, check one another's work as to approve or not. The person in charge of welcoming our guests always checks that everything is in order and that the cleaning is impeccable (fridges are checked, bins, under the beds, windows, bathrooms, dust on furniture, behind heaters, dust on bed frames, cobwebs, lamps, Wi-Fi, TV, cleanliness of the pool and Jacuzzi). I was indeed present on the day of their arrival to make sure the client would find a clean house, which was the case. We feel it unfair to give 1/10 for the comfort of the property when we supply a state-of-the-art kitchen, tailored by one of the best cooks in France with 2 fridges, the most modern technology in all of the house, a high definition flat screen TV with more than 300 channels, 2 hectares of garden cared for by many specialists, the grass is mowed each week, a panoramic view with the sun setting in front of the house, garden furniture that is modern and comfortable. We were disappointed to receive the score of 5/10 for the location. One can read the most read newspaper in the West of France "Le Télégramme" and it describes our property as the definition of happiness...yes happiness! We repaint 3 rooms or the exterior once a year; offer a new Jacuzzi for 3 people and a great kitchen made by professionals. Finally, the rental price is decided by specialists at Novasol and we accepted what was offered to us. All that is left to say is that we continue our efforts in providing a high class standard to our guests and will always do our best.

Great location, pool a great asset, extensive grounds for games, good wood supply, comfortable seating areas inside and out, kitchen area adequate, general cleanliness could be better particularly in shower areas. duvets would have been apprecited instead of blankets. We have booked again for next year!

Beautiful house in the most stunning location but some niggly points. Several light bulbs missing & no replacements available. Over €200 extra to pay on arrival of which €126 was for cleaning. Surely that is something the owner should be factoring in to the main price of the holiday?
