Sea Views

These attractive converted farm buildings have been finished to a very good standard of holiday accommodation and surrounded by green fields and only minutes from Perranporth. Perranporth on the dramatic North Cornwall Coast, has a stunning 3 miles of golden sand, backed by dunes and rolling fields. Right on the sand is a superb beach bar and restaurant with live music, good food and local ales. The coastal town is very family friendly with many surf, gift and local shops that line the high street that leads down to the beach. Surfing and surf hire can be found locally as well as a local golf course and horse riding which are both only minutes from Pencrennow. West of Perranporth is the coastal village of St. Agnes, and the quaint village of Crantock is to the east, both a must for the craft shops, stunning beaches and cliff walks. The surfing town of Newquay with its seven beaches is just minutes away with its many attractions which include a zoo, a sea life centre, Creally Adventure Park, Lappa Valley Steam Railway, leisure centre, golf course, pitch and putt course, parks and gardens. Newquay has many restaurants, cafés and shops as well as the beaches and dramatic cliff top walks. With its beaches comes surf and surf schools so you can try your hand at this exhilarating sport. Truro, the capital of Cornwall, is easily reached and is a must to explore the narrow cobbled streets and enjoy the restaurants, shopping, museum, cinema and theatre for an alternative day or evening out. Padstow, home to Rick Steins food empire is a must visit for all the family. Wander around the narrow streets that all lead to the working harbour and enjoy the ambience provided by this traditional working fishing village. This stretch of coastline is dotted with quiet beaches, secluded coves and has a rich history of smuggling. There are many National Trust houses and gardens, such as Trerice Manor, Lanhydrock House, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, all within easy reach of these lovely holiday cottages. Access to the Roundhouse is via a narrow single-track country lane, which is fairly typical of this area. In accordance with our expectations, we found the accommodation to be very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Our only criticism would be the inclusion of "sea view" as one of the features, as there isn’t a sea view, unless you stand in the middle of the driveway if that qualifies. That said, we had a very enjoyable stay and found plenty to see and do in Perranporth and the surrounding area.

The Roundhouse was advertised as having sea views (main reason for booking). Three of the four windows looked out at a plain concrete retaining wall, the kitchen overlooked the laundry block and a yard. Certainly NO sea views from the cottage. The accommodation was otherwise clean comfortable and well appointed.

Clean comfortable cottage for 2 people near to Perranporth beach & village. Good area for walking along coastal paths & within 30 minutes of Eden Project, St Ives Mousehole & St Michaels Mount. The cottage was well equipped & nicely furnished. It would have been good to have leaflets & suggested walks local to the area, games & dvds would have been a nice touch too. The only thing we really missed was the fact that there was no WiFi other than that we had a very enjoyable week & would recommend this cottage.

Had a great holiday, The Roundhouse was just right for us. Some feedback to help improve The Roundhouse: The heating came on at odd times and was not controllable, other than you could turn it off when it came on. It needed a new kettle. There was only one bedside lamp, and the lighting in the living room was just one ceiling light (lamps would have been cosier.) The mirror in the bedroom could have done with a light for my wife. However, these are things that if fixed would have got the cottage a 10. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining. We had a really lovely time there and didn't want to leave!

Our stay at the Roundhouse was perfect; we had a brilliant time and could not have wished for more. I would highly recommend to anyone. The only downfall was the lack of wifi but if you can live without it, this should not be too much of a problem.
