Sea Views

These attractive, converted farm buildings have been finished to a very good standard of holiday accommodation and are surrounded by green fields and only minutes from Perranporth. Perranporth on the dramatic North Cornwall Coast, has a stunning 3 miles of golden sand, backed by dunes and rolling fields. Right on the sand is a superb beach bar and restaurant with live music, good food and local ales. The coastal town is very family friendly with many surf, gift and local shops that line the high street that leads down to the beach. Surfing and surf hire can be found locally as well as a local golf course and horse riding which are both only minutes from Pencrennow. West of Perranporth is the coastal village of St. Agnes, and the quaint village of Crantock is to the east, both a must for the craft shops, stunning beaches and cliff walks. The surfing town of Newquay with its seven beaches is just minutes away with its many attractions which include a zoo, Sea Life Centre, Creally Adventure Park, Lappa Valley Steam Railway, leisure centre, golf course, pitch and putt course, parks and gardens. Newquay has many restaurants, cafés and shops as well as beaches and dramatic cliff top walks. With its beaches comes surf and surf schools, so you can try your hand at this exhilarating sport. Truro, the capital of Cornwall, is easily reached and is a must to explore the narrow cobbled streets and enjoy the restaurants, shopping, museum, cinema and theatre for an alternative day or evening out. Padstow, home to Rick Stein’s food empire is a must visit for all the family. Wander around the narrow streets that all lead to the working harbour and enjoy the ambience provided by this traditional, working fishing village. This stretch of coastline is dotted with quiet beaches, secluded coves and has a rich history of smuggling. There are many National Trust houses and gardens, such as Trerice Manor, Lanhydrock House, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, all within easy reach of these lovely holiday cottages. The cottage was lovely. Although there was alot of condesation/water on the wall in the bathroom which was a concern. I thought this was because it was an outside wall. Never saw anyone while we were there and couldnt find anyone when we left which was a bit odd but we were left alone to enjoy the property.

The cottage is set of a very narrow lane .5 miles from the main road, the lane has two passing spots one of those a working stable and one an entrance to a field unless you intend staying in every day you have to live with the thought of meeting another car or worse a bunch of horses two -four times a day it was horrendous.

Absolutely loved our stay here, it's just far enough to walk into town/beach and further away enough for peace and tranquility. Honestly we would recommend it to anyone. The only thing that let it down was the cleanliness, but we soon had it sparkling!

This was our second stay at the Roundhouse. We had a lovely, relaxing holiday. It is ideally placed for exploring Cornwall.

Great location, loved the cottage and were made very welcome. Staff not in your face but readily available if you need them. Would certainly stay again, Perranporth and surrounding area lovely with a great vibe from the local community. One point to make to the owners, please look at the comments book and act on small but important comments that arise time after time. ie No small cups & saucers, No blind at the Kitchen window. These may seem trivial but as they arise and we also noted them, to act and put right is a must and not expensive. Other than that a great week was had with good weather. Oh and to the comment made about no Wi Fi, you are on Holiday in an area of outstanding natural beauty get out and about and hit the Beach. Steve & Sue

Good location for Perranporth as you can walk there in about 20-25 minutes. The property itself is off a quiet country lane and has footpaths around for evening walks with views over the coast. Inside the Roundhouse, the one bedroom is open to the lounge (no door) and has a curtained opening in one of the walls. This is great for lying in bed watching the TV in the lounge, but not so great for privacy if you're thinking of having a third person to stay on a z-bed. The windows look out over a nice patio area, but there are no sea views. There is no wifi, but there is a weak phone signal. We didn't find the DVD library mentioned in the property description. Having said this, we did enjoy our stay. It's a cosy cottage for two with pubs and restaurants within walking distance along quiet country roads, and an ideal base for exploring a really beautiful coastline.

We had a fantastic week stay at The Roundhouse. The only thing that let it down was having no wifi.

Fine for 2 of us. Narrow lanes for access. Layout means that bedroom is off living room with no door, but is partially curtained off. Best described as a "semi-studio" rather than a one bedroom. Large shower cubicle in bathroom which is off the bedroom.
