Rosehill is in a brilliant location with many attractions nearby including a lovely beach. Sleeping eight, it’s perfect for the whole family!

Situated just 300 yards from a sandy beach, this deceptively spacious detached cottage is in the perfect location for a family holiday. It has panoramic and breathtaking views over Torbay from most bedrooms and the back patio garden, making this an ideal place in which to relax or sunbathe, as well as to enjoy balmy summer evenings al fresco with a glass of wine. Rosehill has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard. It has a spacious living room with open fire, a conservatory for taking in the view of the bay over to Torquay, offering plenty of space for 2 families holidaying together or a family with grandparents, with a private en-suite bedroom on a different floor. The house is within walking distance of local shops, pubs and restaurants. Goodrington Beach is a sandy beach and also offers family entertainment on the front, as well as Quaywest Water Park. During the summer season the local steam train can be seen running; take a trip to Dartmouth and visit the castle, or the many shops and tea rooms. Paignton also has an award-winning zoo, which makes a great day out. Close by is Agatha Christie’s family home, Greenway, which makes a nice trip. The fishing town of Brixham has a lot to offer and is also worth a trip. Enjoy a day out to Torquay, visit the theatre or the shops, or for more fun days out take a trip to Kent’s Cavern or Babbacombe Model Village. There are many water sports available close by or, for something different, try horse riding on Dartmoor. Take a long walk up Haytor, admire the breathtaking views and spot the Dartmoor ponies. No visit to Devon would be complete without a Devon cream tea. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

The cottage was in an excellent position for exploring the Tor Bay Area. There was a 5 minute walk down to Goodrington sands and the views over the bay from the cottage were outstanding. The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything you need for the week.

We really enjoyed our stay at Rosehill. The view from 2 of the bedrooms was lovely, as was the view from the patio. The house was roomy and the beds comfortable. It was also lovely and clean when we arrived. The managers were very friendly and helpful. There were only 2 negatives! There was no Wifi which meant the kids had to pay for more download. The managers told us that the downstairs toilet needed fixing, but they didn't come and fix it, although I asked them to. Overall our holiday was great, because not only did we have great weather but the shops were very close, and the beach was walkable if fit. Otherwise I would highly recommend a walker with seat for anyone disabled. Beach was great, not too crowded, the food places good, as were the facilities for kayaking. An added bonus was the steam train passing by the beach

Lovely house great location overlooking the sea. The cleaner needs to be a bit more thorough when cleaning the floors. Only downside was the garden with all the stones not very child friendly. We did really enjoy our stay

Little disappointed no WI-FI for such an expensive property. Garden not children friendly, in fact dangerous in some areas, loose concrete slabs. Downstairs toilet light did not work, could not get any response on telephone until late in the week, when it was too late. Views from the property where fabulous, however this was some disadvantage as people used the road for parking for easy access to the beach.

+ : Comfortable beds, good gas boiler, new kitchen appliances, wonderful and comfortable sun room with great views. Shops 5/10 minutes walk away though down hill. - : Damp and mould in some rooms. Niggling maintenance issues ( e.g. no locks on bathroom and shower room doors, cheap and badly hung curtains ). The crime is the conservatory must have cost nearly £10k so why skimp on the rest of the property? Certainly not " Decorated and furnished to a very good standard" but with several more grand spent it could have been. As for the plastic fruit in an old steel bowl I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Not much of a welcome either with no visitor book and no tea, coffee, milk or sugar. Finally and most importantly, dirt issues, mainly in lounge and mainly under sofas which cleaners obvious had not moved for some time. There was dust throughout the property (with thick dust on picture/mirror frames, lampshades and light switches ). Rosehill could be so much better if only it were given some thought and care.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Following a few comments we have had this year and our general wish to keep improving the property, we have decided to totally re-roof Rosehill with brand new tiles as we have found it impossible to find matching tiles for the original roof. We have also changed the cleaning company who have promised a much higher standard of change over service for our guests. We have also renewed the curtain rails in the Living Room and Master Bedroom and also replaced locks in the bathrooms.
