Description

Located in excellent walking country, this holiday property commands outstanding views of the Black Mountain and Carreg Cennen Castle.

Rhandir Barn (ref OX4) and Rhandir Long House (ref OXJ) occupy a dramatic position on a working sheep farm overlooking two valleys in one of the most beautiful and secluded areas in the Brecon Beacons National Park. There are outstanding views of the Black Mountain and the beautiful Carreg Cennen Castle from these architect-designed, detached, 19th-century barns. They both feature beams and cosy wood-burning stove, and Rhandir Barn (ref OX4) has feature archways in the living area, a permanent reminder that these were once part of the stables. In the National Park there are masses of paths and trails for walkers (all abilities), runners, cyclists, mountain bikers, golfers, horse riders and wildlife watchers. There is an excellent range of organised activities on offer too, from gentle recreational pursuits like photography, to full-on adrenaline sports such as paragliding, canoeing, rafting and abseiling. There are a good selection of restaurants and pubs in peaceful Trapp, 2 miles, Llandeilo, 6 miles, and quaint Llangadog, 8 miles. Beach 28 miles. Shops and restaurant 6 miles, pub 2 miles.

Exposed beams throughout. Large double height living room with wood-burning stove. Dining room with full height glass to two sides with panoramic views and doors to outside paved area and lawn. Well-equipped kitchen. Utility with adjoining toilet. Large twin bedroom with headroom to roof apex, door to terrace and lawn, fully tiled en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower. Slate floor throughout. First floor: Two double bedrooms, each with sloping ceiling in roof space, roof windows and fully tiled en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Excellent cottage, extremely well equipped and very comfortable. It has the most beautiful views of Cennan Castle and surrounding countryside.

A wonderful retreat in a secluded countryside location; lovely conservatory with superb views over the surrounding countryside. Access is via a very narrow lane so a small car is best. The house was very well equipped, with some nice touches like a couple of bottles of wine and some milk, plus all the essential toilet and cleaning items. We absolutely loved it!

We had a fantastic time, despite it raining! The place is beautiful, so clean and lovely smelling fluffy white towels! (The small things!). The owner had left milk and wine for us in the fridge on arrival which was so thoughtful. Couldn't recommend anywhere nicer. Only marked slightly down on local amenities as it is out of the way so you have to drive everywhere, but that's why it's great, so quiet and peaceful. Grandparents, parents and toddler & baby all loved it. Thank you so much. We will be back!

We, a group of five friends, stayed at Cennen Longhouse in July 2017. We chose the cottage for its beautiful views and location and for the facilities inside the house (particularly that all bedrooms are en suite). The Longhouse did not disappoint at all. The location is remote but beautiful and the views are stunning. The house is well arranged and comfortable, spotlessly clean and equipped to a good standard (inc wood burner inside and bbq outside). The local town, Llandeilo, has a good supermarket (Co-op) and restaurants and cafes. We found the location excellent for going on day trips throughout the whole of South Wales.

Loved it! Attractive and well laid out cottage, and well stocked, with glorious views, in a very beautiful part of the world. Not surprised that several people in the visitor's book there had written that they would be very keen to buy the house if it were ever for sale. Very helpful support from Marcus.

Wonderful comfortable and cosy. Great view of the castle. Relaxing and away from it all. Will go again.

Beautiful cottage with the most stunning natural views all around. Extra touches were appreciated (love that soap)! If you have children you must go to Folly Farm, it's an hour away but so worth it.
