From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

Easily accommodating 16 guests, ideally situated just a mile from sandy beaches, and great for discovering Dorset.

This magnificent listed building, with 8 bedrooms and 9 bath/shower rooms, offers wonderful character holiday accommodation in a residential area, just a mile away from the lovely sandy beaches of Swanage Bay and a large selection of restaurants and shops. Newton Manor House dates back to the early 1600s with walls and roof built from local Purbeck stone. The house retains a lot of its original charm with ornate oak panelling and wood carvings. The principal rooms overlook the serene landscaped gardens, while the first and second floor rooms offer far-reaching views across the small seaside town of Swanage, to the sea and coast beyond. The town of Swanage nestles peacefully amidst the beautiful Isle of Purbeck countryside, and is set between the Heads of Durlston and Studland, sloping gently down to the water’s edge. This small pleasant resort has an array of restaurants, interesting shops and a small theatre, not to mention spectacular floral displays in the parks and gardens. In season, pleasure cruisers leave the pier daily, bound for Poole, Bournemouth and the Isle of Wight. The Lifeboat Centre at Pervil Point is open to the public and fascinating to visit, whilst Durlston Country Park provides magnificent cliff walks and views of Anvil Point Lighthouse. A trip aboard Swanage’s restored steam railway also makes for a fun day out, winding its way through pretty scenery to the ruins of Corfe Castle. Magnificent coastal walks extend north from the town to the National Trust sandy beaches at Studland while the South West Coastal Path leads to Kimmeridge, Tyneham and West Lulworth in the west, much of which is National Trust land and rich in local flora and fauna. The larger seaside resorts of Poole and Bournemouth are just a ferry ride away, boasting a huge range of shops, theatres, museums, cinemas, and restaurants. The entire coast is excellent for trying out all manner of watersports - windsurfing, water-skiing, yachting and surfing to name just a few. Fishing and tennis are available a mile away in Swanage, and a local golf course can be found nearby. Shop ¼ mile.

Absolutely perfect for our whole party of 15. We were thrilled with the welcome pack. The kitchen and every bedroom was so well equipped and very thoughtfully prepared

We were a party of 10 celebrating an 80th birthday for 3 days, having known each other for some 50 years. The house was the best place we have been to for our reunions. We all had our own en suite bathrooms (essential at our ages) and the house is beautifully kept and in keeping with the period. The dining room was perfect and we had a couple of lovely evenings there - eating drinking and playing some cards & board games in the evening while some just sat and chatted. There are lots of different rooms and nooks where you can get away from each other if you want and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a party of 10. I would thoroughly recommend the house to anyone. The only downside is that we struggled to find somewhere to eat out in the evening in Swanage - the only reasonable place being the Trattoria which was a good Italian restaurant and 'did what it said on the tin'! The walks and places of interest locally are brilliant and we all had a great time and wished we could have stayed longer.

We were a party of 14 and we had a wonderful time. As we were on a walking holiday 15 mins to town was nothing really. The house was very comfortable although a couple of the twin beds had very saggy mattresses and could do with replacing. Ok for kids perhaps but not adults. The house was very well equipped too, everything you could want. Of course the weather was on our side too but the house was really cosy All in all we had a wonderful week thank you very much.

We had an amazing time at Newton manor! The place was very dramatic, full of gorgeous period features and was huge! All the girls were blown away! There were 16 of us in total and we didn't feel crowded at all. The bedrooms are lovely and the 2 kitchens come fully equipped! The owners even left a little goody basket which was a lovely touch ! If I had to be picky I would say a couple of the rooms were a tiny bit chilly. But it was a cold weekend in April and this is to be expected in a grand Manor Houses. It was mainly the loft room and living room effected ... Although the real log burning fire soon took care of the living room... And it's definitely not chilly enough to complain about! In all a fantastic location and a beautiful house.. We will definitely re-visit with question!

We enjoyed staying at Newton Manor House and would only comment on the configuration of the dining room. We were a party of 16 and it was quite difficult to fit the chairs around the table satisfactorily. It took a day or two to locate cutlery and crockery as it was spread between the two kitchens but not in a very logical manner. There was however masses of both when located.

So sorry we didn't allow time to write in the visitors book before we left. Please copy this review in. We LOVED the house and had a wonderful week with three generations of family coming and going...brilliant to have so much room. The wonderful Indian Summer weather was a bonus! An amazing place with lovely historical atmosphere. Can heartly recommended local catering company Crab Apple, who did us proud for a super buffet supper. Also recommend La Trattoria and the pizza restaurant on opposite side of the road. Had a great full English breakfast overlooking the sea on our last morning at Brooks.

What a superb property. Beautifully appointed with comfortable bedrooms and plenty of modern bathrooms. The kitchen is very well stocked, as is the utility room. Lovely gardens too. Our party of 12 adults and 2 children had a wonderful long weekend celebrating my mum's 80th birthday. Beautiful location, very easy to get into the centre of Swanage and the beach, and great access for the stunning Purbeck scenery.
