English Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

Malvern is close by, and Three Counties Showground, Malvern Hills, as well as farm shops and walking trails all easily reached.

These three superb holiday cottages nestle on the borders of Herefordshire and Worcestershire and are located on a 700-acre estate on the beautiful west side of the Malvern Hills. Netherley Hall Estate is a family-run farm specialising in the breeding of racehorses, show ponies, cattle and sheep and the surrounding area offers marvellous woodland walks. The cottages are within 15 minutes’ drive of Malvern and have panoramic views of the wooded hills and unspoilt countryside; the location is ideal for nature enthusiasts, with an abundance of wildlife to observe as well as unrivalled bird-watching.
The cottages are all detached and the English oak timber used to restore their interiors was felled and machined from the extensive woodland on the estate itself. The furnishings and fittings for all the cottages have been supplied by local businesses and during restoration, the owners have paid great attention to detail. Parkers (ref RAAP) was originally built in 1610 and is a listed building lovingly restored to the very highest standard and has several items of antique furniture. Parkers Lodge (ref RAAQ) is a smaller two-bedroomed cottage completed in 2006 and fitted out to a very high standard, whilst Brook House (ref RAAR) is a listed building dating from around 1670 and emanates a marvellous ambience. It has landscaped gardens and a terrace with outstanding views overlooking Mathon Brook.
Attractions to visit near the cottages include the Malvern Hills, Three Counties Showground and Malvern Theatre, as well as farm shops, gardens, gift shops, picnic areas and walking trails. Fishing, golf and riding are also available as well as pick your own fruit (in season). Racecourses in the locality include Hereford, Worcester, Chepstow, Ludlow, Cheltenham, Wolverhampton, Warwick and Stratford. Shop and pubs 1 mile.

A peaceful lodge away from it all yet within reach of Worcester, Hereford, Gloucester and Tewksbury if you are into Cathedrals and medieval architecture. The Saturday market in Worcester is worth a visit, particularly if you are a foody, and Ledbury is a delightful little country town within easy distance. In an attempt to be constructive it would be helpful if the owners of Parkers Lodge provided a few maps and directions to get around the locality. Things were made particularly difficult by the closure of the main Worcester road, which resulted in a twenty mile detour to get to Hereford when there was in fact a much shorter route that had not be detour signposted by the ever "unhelpful" people at the County roads authority.

The cottage is in a lovely situation and we enjoyed walks directly from the cottage everyday. The surrounding countryside is beautiful.

A lovely cottage, perfect for our family of 3 and two dogs, in a beautiful remote feeling location. The cottage was very clean and felt spacious. Night times were blissfully quiet. The wifi was good which was a major plus for our 11 year old son. There are beautiful walks from the location and the Malvern Hills are only a 10 minute drive away. We will definitely go back and recommend to others. We had a perfect bank holiday weekend away with an easy drive to and from the location with little traffic which was exactly our aim. Very good value for money.

Please be aware if you book this Cottage that it is, effectively, in the grounds of a larger holiday property and that this other property is very very close. Inquisitive children or dogs can easily wander across from one property to the other. It was clean and comfortable. The ensuites were sparkling. We suggest doubling up on mugs(only 4) teaspoons(4) and wine glasses(only 5 of differing sizes!)in order to avoid washing up multiple times a day. It is inefficient to run a dishwasher on a small load. The outside is dull and could be made more attractive with some colourful patio pots and garden seating. Malvern is a short drive away with many good restaurants and there are lots of historic houses and castles etc.within easy reach. There is good footpath walking from the door but be aware there are many stiles and no dog flaps. Walking on the Malvern Hills of course is magnificent and easily reached.

Comfortable and well equipped. For us a perfect location. Rural and peaceful. Would be even more lovely in the spring and summer.
