Part of a complex of cottages renovated to a very high standard. Off road parking is shared between the cottages - inconsiderate parking the week we were there meant there was a limited number of spaces. Some housekeeping issues when we arrived - fridge hadn't been cleaned, jam on the throws in one of the bedrooms and cushions on the bed weren't clean. These have been reported to the owner and did not spoil the holiday. Lovely drench shower downstairs, however upstairs bathroom has a free standing bath and no shower so still queues for the shower in the mornings. Living room is up a steep set of stairs (this should be considered for those with mobility problems), and has a lovely wood burning stove. Sofas, however, are well past their best; are very soft, lumpy and are very hard to get out of once you are sitting. Would come back here as is very central to a lot of attractions, however housekeeping between visitors needs to be reviewed and some maintenance issues are in need of resolving.

No wood for the stove ,no matches to light the fire ,sofas to old and sagging in the middle ,heating hit and miss not working and rooms too cold at times, no tablets left for the dish washer and had to buy some washing up liquid no spare toilet rolls or paper towels . We had to buy a lot which should have been provided not a pub or shop within walking distance.

Disappointing failure to maintain property - bath water flooded through downstairs ceiling due to faulty pipes. Ruined our Christmas break.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; We are disappointed with the score you have given in comparison with our other and usual high scores. Our visitor’s book is also full of very complimentary guest’s comments and this review is completely in contrast to comments from other guests. The problem with the pipes was not due to poor maintenance it is of course in our best interests to maintain the property to its usual high standard. This was a problem that could not have been foreseen and we had a plumber out to inspect it immediately. Unfortunately upon your departure we found the property to be left in an unacceptable condition which therefore required extra cleaning. We do however welcome all constructive feedback in order to maintain our property to its highest standards.

Lovely cozy cottage in a central location. The log burner a bonus and felt overall, very comfortable. The deco is to high standard except a few cobwebs in living room, which a brush over not too much to do. Lovely clean linen and towels. Needed instructions on how to use the cooker but overall a very nice cottage and would defo use again and tell my friends about it.
