Mill meadow cottage is a beautiful little, compact but comfortable cottage in a peaceful fairly isolated location but half hour from nearby towns. Alex and Neil have made a superb effort to include and provide everything that might be needed - and stuff that isn't unless you can't live without a pasta maker! Tiny kitchen was better equipped than many large cottages we have been to and was perfectly usable space wise for 2 people. The bed was comfortable - important to many people ! Shower and bathroom clean and fine. The lounge was comfortable and the inclusion of sky TV helped those rainy evenings! . We would return to this cottage.

This comfy cottage is perfect for 2, ideal for those wanting to get away from it all. This is exactly what we wanted and the location was good for us as we visited surrounding places, it was centrally located to Exmoor, the coast and not far from bigger towns. It is accessed by country lanes and some are steep so best to arrive during the day to get your bearings. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. The cottage is situated next to some stables so was nice to see some horses which were not noisy. Facilities in the cottage were very good including a lovely bottle of wine on arrival. The bed is a double (which I knew prior to booking) and we are used to kingsize although that could have been a squeeze in the room but that's the only thing we missed. We are hoping to go back for another stay.

Beautiful cottage, Perfect Location, Incredible Owners! Thanks Alex and Neil! We have just come back from a really restful holiday at the beautiful Mill Meadow Cottage. My (6 month pregnant) wife and I wanted a relaxing week in the countryside and definitely found it. The cottage is lovely and well equipped, with very comfortable bed, good shower and lovely little balcony overlooking the adjacent brook. The grounds are spacious and full of wildlife. We enjoyed watching the kingfisher and woodpeckers from the decked area (with very comfortable recliner chairs). The inside is well thought out and the lounge has comfy sofas and a large modern flat screen TV with freeview. We ate in all but one night and the kitchen was great for everything from stir fries to roasts. Alex was very helpful before we visited in arranging the stay and answering several questions and even provided wine and milk for our arrival! The horses in the yard are very friendly, as were the two cats. The black and white one seems to like fishing in the stream. Our hosts went well above and beyond as the clutch on our car broke mid way through the holiday. I asked if I could use their house phone to call the AA (Devon mobile reception can be patchy!), but Neil looked at the car instead and was able to source a replacement part locally, and fix it himself the following day! That is incredible service and a miracle to find we had an on-site mechanic when you are so remote! I had to leave the cottage for work for one day and Alex even offered to drive my wife to town if she wanted. I don't think you will find more accommodating, obliging or friendly cottage owners. Thank you both!!! Previous reviews have mentioned a dripping tap from the shower. This must have been fixed as it was watertight for our stay and we slept well. Also another review mentioned building work - apparently this was a local stonemason working on the beautiful cottage that is nearby. That work is all finished and it looks amazing. If you want a peaceful stay in a beautiful part of Devon, with great hosts and close to beaches and Exmoor than I cant recommend it more highly!

Alex and Neil have a beautiful cottage and we were lucky to get a last minute booking for the Easter weekend. It's a beautiful countryside location 20 minutes walk from the local pub and 15 minutes drive from ilfracombe It's in the middle of no where and was such a lovely spot can't wait to go back The sound of the stream when laying in bed with the window open was idillic

It was absolutely lovely. The only reason I said I wouldn't go back it's because I generally don't go back to the same places as there is so many other to visit. The cottage is in the middle of nowhere which is perfect for a weekend get away from city noise. The only downside for me was no fireplace or wood burner (my romantic character ) and dripping water from the shower which can wake you up at night. Otherwise highly recommend and the owners are very very nice.

We had a lovely stay at Mill Meadow cottage. Cute and cosy cottage with everything we needed. Comfortable bed and piping hot shower. If you don't want to have to take your meals upstairs then don't book this type of cottage!! and if you want space then pick a larger property. It's very annoying when people run these places down and they haven't read the description properly first. Comments about the noise of the horses in the stables adjoining the cottage were unreasonable......It's a country cottage, what do you expect! The owners are lovely and friendly and deserve all credit for this smashing little cottage, ideal for couples and with great location to all local attractions......fab, wonderful, relaxing home from home cottage. Highly recommended.

Location was perfect for us, so peaceful and secluded. No phone or Internet was not really a problem. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you need and more but it was smaller than expected and I don't think we could stay there for more than a few days. The stable yard was not a problem but we were woken up early some mornings as the stable was next to the bedroom so we could hear the horses being brought in. The stairs up to the 1st floor were quite steep and slippy so it was tricky carrying our meals upstairs which was the only dining area. Another holiday cottage is being renovated next to this one and this will affect the seclusion of this cottage which is a shame.

Cottage pretty much as described. Reasonably comfortable, reasonably clean and quite well-equipped. Approach very difficult and parking in what was literally part of a building site due to the renovation of the large house on the same site. Building work seven days a week with accompanying noise. Therefore not currently a quiet and peaceful location. No alternative suggestion for very difficult parking amidst heavy lifting machinery and cement mixing. Stables next door to the kitchen window didn't allow alternative parking either. Disappointing primarily due to the persistent building work in such close proximity to the cottage.
