A traditional farmhouse with wonderful views from the enclosed garden. A fantastic base for large groups wishing to visit Northumberland and the Lakes.

This traditional farmhouse lies half a mile beyond the outskirts of Alston on the borders of Northumbria and Cumbria, central in the North Pennines, an AONB. Alston is said to be England’s highest market town. Fishing, riding and golf nearby. Follow some of the local rambles or the Pennine Way. The glorious coast and countryside of Northumbria is within travelling distance, as are the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Scottish Borders. Water sports at Talkin and Keilder Water. Gateshead, only an hour away, has a large shopping centre with restaurants and ten screen cinema. Or just stay home and relax in front of the fire and eat together with family and friends. Set in a garden, bordered by mature trees with panoramic views over green fields and wild fells. Before it lies the site of an ancient Britain fort, and behind, the Roman’s Maiden Way. The town has a quaint cobbled street with public houses, butchers, bakers and its own candlemaker. An ideal holiday base. Assisted wheelchair users can be accommodated on the ground floor.

We have had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay . We were very warm (it was November) and much appreciated the wood burners which heated the house superbly. There were 10 in our group (4 couples and 2 singles) and the house accommodated us easily. The kitchen / dining room was very well equipped . The owners (who live in an adjacent barn conversion) were most friendly, but were not at all intrusive. Many thanks

A lovely house in a beautiful location. A big house, but still warm and cosy with the log fire!Nearby Alston had all we needed, including excellent food in the two pubs we visited. A good central location for travelling around, great views.

Brilliant location which is so close to the Pennines. We made a lot of noise and felt free as it did not disturb the owners or anyone else. Lovely owners live just behind the Farm House who are very helpful. Great place to just switch-off yourself from all the hustle and bustle! Thanks

Great building which is well maintained. Plenty of room for the 12 of us that stayed there. Internet a bit of hit and miss but not a problem. This was our second stay and we have booked again for next year.

A well equipped and maintained house in beautiful surroundings. It fitted our group of 18 adults and children, not forgetting two dogs, perfectly. The enclosed lawned garden was an extra bonus for the children and dogs
