Our family of five, and another family of 3 stayed at Lower Trevorder Barn last week, and we had a fantastic holiday! Our children (ages 10, 9 and 6) were the youngest of the party, and the oldest was 50, but there was so much to enjoy for all ages. Here are our honest thoughts... Firstly the space upstairs was just lovely. A big open plan kitchen, with plenty of seating, and a clean and tidy kitchen which was well equipped. The double oven was brilliant, and we managed to grill 16 rashers of bacon and 20 sausages on one tray for our cooked breakfast! The owner had left us a plate of scones and cream in the fridge, or should I say one of the fridges, as there were three. One tiny request might be for more cutlery, as there was 8 of everything, but as we were 8 people, we had to keep washing it up all the time. The lounge was spacious again, with 2 large and comfy sofas, and a big tv in the corner. There was a chest full of board games to play, some books, dvd's, cd's and magazines, with a nice hifi, and pretty much everything you would want in a lounge. Our best bit was the log burner, which the owners generously allow you to use as many logs as you wish. (most places we have been, you only get the first fire free) We very much enjoyed our evening fires. Finally the views from the balcony were just stunning, and we loved being out there with a cup of tea, or just gazing at the lambs and calves. Unusually, the bedrooms were all downstairs, and spread out along a clean tiled hallway. The two master bedrooms were great, and both had fabulous en-suites, (with complimentary l'Occitane products) and comfy large beds. The two twins were a little smaller, but that is absolutely normal in any home, and they were perfectly adequate for our family, with the children sleeping like logs. Lastly the games room, which we used every day, and all 8 of us enjoyed fun tournaments of pool, table football, darts, croquet and giant draughts. We felt this was a fabulous addition to the property, and although there was an Xbox in there, our kids ignored it for the novelty of all the other things on offer. The gardens were also nice, and the children could see the animals, and play safely outside whenever they wished, which was often! All in all, we loved it, and although nothing is ever absolutely perfect, our holiday at Lower Trevorder Barn was a special one, and I am glad we chose it.

We loved this cottage! The beds and accommodation were really comfortable and the living space was good too. The facilities were excellent and the owners seem to have thought of everything - it looked like there was even a charger for an electric car! Games room was good but possibly a little tired but overall plenty to do and it kept us occupied for a couple of hours. If you have children they would love playing pool and table football but the Xbox 360 didn't seem to work (I think because of batteries) but who cares! Who wants to play Xbox on holiday! There was also a big TV with access to your Netflix account to watch films if you want to. Overall a top place to stay and I would highly recommend! X

Really enjoyed our stay here, we were impressed with the style and design features throughout. Only downside would be the lack of sound insulation in the floor upstairs, a nightmare if you're trying to get and keep young children asleep! It was a little cobwebby in places but overall the standard was very high and we loved the touches such as L'Occitane products in the bathrooms.

Nice barn, lovely views, great log burner. 3rd and 4th bedrooms are quite small and have little storage. Overall we had a great weekend.

We stayed at Lower Trevorder Barn and The Mill House as we were attending a wedding near by at Trevenna. Well we couldn't have chosen better, the barns are perfect for families being safe for children, spacious, clean and well equipped. The location is also worth mentioning being very rural for peace and quiet and offering wonderful views but not to far from local amenities.

We were a party of 5 adults and a toddler. The property was ideal for our group and very child friendly. The upstairs living area was very secure for an inquisitive toddler with the added bonus he could view the cows and calves from the balcony and the cats in the barn from the window! The accommodation had the added bonus of an upstairs toilet. The kitchen was well provided with crockery and cooking equipment though we found the oven rather large. Bodmin with Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury's as well as a park with a large children's play area is near and easy to reach from the barn. We loked the low level lighting on the stairs and on the downstairs corridor.

Comfortable property, very well equipped, with plenty of space for two families of 4. Would suggest more storage in the twin rooms and really missed having a mirror in our double room. But they are just very minor things. We had a wonderful time and we all loved the games room too. I would highly recommend this property.
