Originally built in the 1790s as a corn mill and hay loft, it is now an exquisite holiday retreat boasting a games room with pub-style pool table and full size table football. Oozing contemporary flair, this boutique home offers complete tranquillity. Nestled between the moorland villages of St Neot, Mount and the beautiful wooded valley of Cardinham, it is within a short driving distance of many of Cornwall’s fabulous attractions. The area is popular with cyclists who will enjoy the Bodmin Beast Trial, a 12-mile off-road mountain bike trail at Cardinham woods. There is something for everyone: children and adults, not forgetting a great selection of local pubs and fine dining restaurants. Remarkable attention has been taken at every corner to ensure that all the character and charm of the original features have been retained, including exposed beams and stone walls. Designed with sustainable tourism in mind, it is the overall winner of the Environment 2020 Bosch Worcester Awards for the innovative use of solar panels and ground source heat pumps. Sit with a glass of wine whilst enjoying the landscaped garden with large decked patios, al fresco dining, croquet and bowls on the lawn. Whether guests choose to snuggle up on one of the large sofas by the log fire or enjoy a BBQ overlooking the moors, they are in for a real treat. Afterwards, they can slip into the large, double-ended bath and indulge themselves with complimentary L’Occitaine body and hair products and wrap up in one of the bath robes! Local shops and country pub are just 2 miles.

On arrival the we found the barn was not cleaned to the level that we would expect, we found discarded sweet papers in drawers and under beds, as well as a general level of dustiness throughout. We complained and someone returned to clean more thoroughly. Broadband internet went down on the 2nd day and was out of order for the rest of our stay. We specifically chose a cottage with broadband so were very disappointed when it was not functioning. We appreciate that sometimes these things are out of the landlords control, however we expected to receive an offer of compensation. We received none. There were also a number of men digging channels and laying drainage pipes across the bottom of the field adjacent to the garden area, this involved noisy equipment and further disruption. All in all not the best, happy to accept that it was possibly bad luck, but perhaps some money back would have been fair as the cottage was not cheap.

Perfect for a family holiday. Easy access to both North and South coasts. Ideal that games room separate from house. Plenty of fridge space. Kitchen well equipped. Coloured hall lights useful at night for young children moving along stepped corridor. Fourth bedroom rather cramped when used by two adults.

A fantastic cottage, loved everything about it! Spacious but still cosy, well equipped, stunning views, great balcony, superb games room. Lots of Cornwall towns, villages & beaches within easy reach. Shops close by when needed. Really lucky with the weather ☀️ All helped to make a perfect holiday with great friends! Thank you!

The cottage was lovely. It had lots of thoughtful little touches such as a baby towel and baby products for our 8 month old. It had lovely L' Occitane products throughout the cottage and a yummy Cornish cream tea waiting for us on our arrival. We loved the disco for our feet corridor! 😆
