Haverigg contains a hidden gem of a beach that has something for everyone; good sand, shallow water, dunes to walk along, a nature reserve and a backdrop of the Cumbrian mountains - we spent many restful days simply relaxing here and enjoying breakfast from the beach café.

Joining instructions were excellent. There were crumbs and a sweet wrapper on the dining table. Had to clean all cutlery, plates, bowls and pans before use. Upstairs was really comfortable and pleasant. In terms of location, we had to drive to the attractions we wanted to see. OK in terms of overall value for money.

Response on behalf of the owner; I’m very sorry that there was a sweet wrapper and some crumbs on the table, this is not how we endeavor to let the property and is below our normal high standard. With regards having to clean all the cutlery, plates, bowls & pans before use, I’m sorry I just don’t understand how this could be. I do wish you had contacted us during your stay as we would’ve called round assessed and rectified any issues immediately.

We had a lovely tranquil week at Lazy Cottage. The cottage itself was comfortable and well-equipped - read the folder for instructions on how to use the oven. Wi-fi set the teenager's mind at rest and there were even board games and a great range of books. We could have happily stayed a couple of weeks. A word of warning for first time visitors to the Lakes like us (from the flatlands of Norfolk) - the roads are bendy and precipitous, low gears essential - and if using sat nav or Google Maps ignore any instructions to take a 'C' road! Follow the instructions supplied! Enjoy your stay. We did!

Great place to stay, good location and very well equipped . Great rooms. only negative is the bathroom being downstairs which was ok for me but not so good for my parents who aren't too good with stairs

Great location and a good base to explore the area. The cottage was well maintained and had everything needed. The instructions provided by the owners were very helpful and a good stock of materials highlighting local attractions.
