On arriving we collected the key as arranged, the first thing we noticed was that it was smaller than we expected, we didn't like the thought of sitting and reading looking out on the courtyard instead of the lovely view, we didn't see any instructions on how to use the appliance or about recycling, unfortunately we had a door that separated our room and you could hear the other guest, we did read this in the information but didn't realise.

We had everything we could have wanted for the 2 of us at this cottage. (The only minor niggles were: a very small freezer compartment in fridge; & a rather slow-to-drain shower.) Otherwise very comfortable, well-equipped and well-appointed - the bed was ultra-comfortable. The views were wonderful & the countryside quiet with plenty of walks. There's a nice pub doing good meals at reasonable prices just a walk across the fields, also a post office and shop in the same village (Kibblesworth). The Beamish Museum is close by & great fun. We also visited Bede's World in Jarrow, and Durham Cathedral and Crook Hall. All highly recommended.

Very good holiday, the cottage was lovely everything you needed. Ideal base to visit everything the area has to offer. Angus and Louise were lovely hosts and the nice homemade cake on arrival was much appreciated.
