Description

A beautiful family home, ideal for larger groups, with open fires and enclosed courtyard with hot tub and a beach close by.

This property is set in the historic town of Beaumaris on the Menai Strait - with its medieval castle dating back to the reign of Edward I, and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse. Situated amongst a row of properties, Kings House was built in the 18th century about 1720. It did not however become the Inn until 1829, and has not functioned in that capacity for over 100 years. Deceptive in size from the front, the property offers spacious holiday accommodation, with six large bedrooms and plenty of living space. The good-sized courtyard to the rear of the property is opened onto from the conservatory and snug.
There is plenty to do in the area, with sailing being a very popular pastime. For golfing enthusiasts, there are two good golf courses to play on, and with several restaurants and pubs in the area, visitors will be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out. Horse riding can also be found locally. There are also the many beaches in the area - Beaumaris has its own small beach, but not too far away is Red Wharf Bay which has a large sandy beach. There are also many other beaches on the island - Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay to name just two. The nearest beach is just 1 minute’s walk from the property. Discover the island’s varied coastline, which is perfect for watersports, leisure centres and Sea Zoo.
For those who reluctantly wish to leave the beauty of Anglesey, North Wales offers unrivalled beauty in the form of the Snowdonia National Park. Historic castles await exploration and there are many excellent walks to suit all levels. Llandudno makes for an enjoyable day out, as does a trip on the Ffestiniog Railway. Day trips are available to Ireland from Holyhead port. Shops 200 yards, pub 20 yards.

Great house. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn't on when we arrived and there were some pajamas from a previous guest found in one of the beds. Other than that it was great.

The property was fantastic. Clean, spacious and central to shops and pubs. As a family of 10 there was plenty of space and bathrooms for everyone. There was a big kitchen table so we could all have breakfast and lunch together. We have two young children and the girls could safely play and explore around the house. On the Saturday we unfortunately lost key on a beach walk. The owner kindly met us at the house to open door. Plenty of things to do and places to eat in the area. We didn't want to leave after two night relaxing day and will definetly be back.

This is a fantastic property for a family holiday. We numbered 10 over 3 generations and it met expectations in every way. I scored it 9/10 on location only because parking is difficult nearby, being able to park outside in the street for 1 hour. Parking is unrestricted in the adjacent street but availability is a lottery and we had 3 cars to park. It's location for the town is excellent. I gave 9/10 for comfort because a couple of mattresses were lumpy and could do with changing. Despite a visit from the property managers, we never got the washing machine/dryer to work. The property suited us 100% because one daughter and family had the annexe, the other daughter and family the 2nd floor and me, my wife and 14 yrs old granddaughter had the 1st floor. The hot tub was used every day by the grandchildren who loved it and the only problem with the garden was the herring gulls who swooped on any food left unattended on the table and left their droppings all over the place including the side of the house!!! They were, in fact, a major problem in the whole town for the whole week, smashing crockery on the outside tables of beachfront cafes when swooping on tables for food, covering cars and pavements with their droppings and unrelenting noise. Would I return? Definitely!!
