Excellent holiday. The cottage was spotless and perfectly equipped for our needs. There was a splendid view of the River Esk at the rear occasionally visited by a seal who is apparently a regular visitor. On the weekend we sat and watched steam trains entering and leaving Whitby station. The cottage is perfectly placed for walking into Whitby but there is also a bus stop the local bus on the main road nearby. I recommend Mr. Chips and the Riverside Chippy for fish and Chips and we enjoyed a very nice meal and glass of ale in the Board Inn. Additionally the pie shop at Robin Hoods Bay was well worth a visit.

Very clean and tidy only negative would be that no sweeping brush or even a dustpan and brush available to use, also no Wi-Fi.

We have stayed in this cottage twice now and have booked again for 2016. The location is first class and the cottage is very clean and comfortable, on site parking is a bonus although it is rather tight if you have two cars.

The cottage was lovely. However an extra tea towel would have been good. Our week was cold at night but the heating was very efficient. We enjoyed watching the steam trains on the other side of the river. We would go again.
