Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Beside the Menai Straits, this traditional farmhouse with feature fireplace and wood burner looks across to the Isle of Anglesey.

Seaside location, magnificent views

This traditional detached farmhouse enjoys the most convenient location, as it is just a stone’s throw away from historic Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle. The drive to the farm offers outstanding views across the harbour to the castle, and the journey right along the fore shore of the Menai Straits is just breathtaking.
Helen Cottage is nestled besides the owner’s small and exclusive caravan park, on a 110-acre working farm, where visitors are welcome to explore and watch the calves being fed. It provides the perfect holiday base for golfers and sailors, as there is an 18-hole golf course adjacent to the farm and a boat launch nearby. Caernarfon is also the starting point for the Welsh Highland railway, with wonderful train journeys into the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Caernarfon also offers a leisure centre with indoor swimming and tennis facilities, along with a fine selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. The national water sports centre is 2 miles, horse riding is available just 4 miles away and the beaches at Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula are just 10 miles away. Beach 350 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Beautiful cottage with equally lovely people that own it. Grace and her family made us feel really welcome and went above and beyond what would be expected to help us with a chosen activity.

Spent New Years Eve weekend here and absolutely loved it. Our 8 year old was particularly fascinted with the secret window, old etching on the window sill and the cows and the calves that we had to visit every morning. It took us rather a long time to leave as he had to say goodbye to each and everyone!!!!

The cottage is comfortable, clean and well equipped and the owners are friendly and helpful. It is convenient for Caernarfon centre which is a pleasant walk along the Menai. But there are no views from or privacy to the cottage. It is advertised as bein.g adjacent to the owners caravan site which is not strictly true as it is part of the caravan site. In addition it became apparent through the week that the cottage has a damp problem as clothes which were hung up actually felt damp when putting them on and as the week went on started to smell fusty.

Our week's stay was very relaxing and the cottage was clean and tidy and well equipped. It was a perfect location for walking to Caernarfon every day (about a mile). The only downside was that you are a little overlooked from every window so don't have much privacy unless you keep all the curtains closed (the bathroom window opens onto the owners entrance and car parking area). The garden is not private at all and the furniture could do with being replaced and an umbrella would have been nice with the table and chairs on the decking. When we were there the dishwasher was a little temperamental and could do with fixing. All that aside, I would recommend as it was very peaceful and a beautiful setting being near the sea - it could just do with a little more privacy.
