A great family holiday base ideally situated to visit the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer, including The Eden Project.

This spacious, detached, dog-friendly holiday cottage is set over three floors with three bathrooms, and has a lovely hand-built kitchen with dresser and large dining table. From here you can take in the breathtaking views across the Atlantic Ocean and walk north towards Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, or south towards Polzeath, with its sandy surfing beach. Rock is a 5 mile drive from Post Isaac, where you can enjoy the many watersports on offer. You can walk or cycle along the Camel Trail, a disused railway line that follows the Camel Estuary to the market town of Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin. You can also take a ferry from Rock to Padstow, where you will find many shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein’s fish restaurant. This holiday cottage is ideally situated to visit the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer including The Eden Project, a zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium at Newquay, as well as many gardens and NT properties close by. we had a great week in Port Isaac, Hillside is a great space but there are some niggles that need attention. the overwhelming smell of dog when we entered the property was very off putting. I love dogs and thought it was wonderful that every we visited was dog friendly, however, having the smell hit you like that as you walk in the house was really unpleasant. I would suggest some plug in air fresheners or the reed type (I purchased this from the co-op and it helped enormously), it would have made all the difference. The cooker has knobs that are all cracked so they do not work when you try to turn the rings on, also the numbers are all worn away so it is not clear which way it 'hot' - and it is the opposite way to normal. the play station did not work, there were 4 of us and none of us use 1 normally, we thought it would be good fun but could not use it - there was no lead to charge it and I'm guessing it was flat. the blinds in the bedroom I had were broken so I could not open them - there was all manner of new packages under my bed so maybe there was one there to replace it?? also, I reached behind the bed to plug my phone charger in and I think there must be about a years dust behind there! the cutlery drawer is difficult to close as it catches. the kitchen really does need a proper clean, it is very grubby. these are not major issues but irritating when you are expecting a tip top house. These are things that should be easy to rectify I think.

Amazing potential, needs a thorough clean, toilet in upstairs bathroom has been moved but the flooding not changed so can see the bare floor where the toilet once stood, the numbers on the oven controls have warn away and been put back with felt tip which is now faded. This is the first property that we have stopped in with no welcome pack

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Hillside in Port Isaac. The cottage was very comfortable and located in an ideal situation. We were able to explore Port Isaac and the surrounding attractions easily. The beach at Polzeath was the finest beach I have seen the UK. We had a problem with one of the toilets being blocked but this was very quickly remedied by the caretaker. Thanks you all very much. ******

Great place for our family holiday, easy walk into town and to the harbour. Would have liked a rear garden but bench table at the front was good for relaxing. Plenty of useful equipment in the kitchen, and having grown 'children' we didn't feel on top of each other with the three floors and spacious rooms.

Very well equipped. Accommodated four couples very easily. Port Isaac is a good base for visiting North Cornwall. Slight negatives: no spectacular view from house and all but one car need to be left a short walk away, but otherwise this was an excellent cottage. We have struggled to find another cottage as good.

We had a brilliant weekend. The house was very roomy and comfortable. Apart from the DVD player not working, everything else was good. The position of the house was ideal with the coop just up the road for wine etc. It was very quiet as it was December , but we liked that. I should think it gets very busy in the summer.
